1500 baht is for full service with no extra tip needed. The girl gets to keep all of it while at soapies, they have to split with the house. The house at the oil MP keeps the 400-800 baht you pay for the massage.

1. You go in to the Oil Massage place and choose a girl (or else one is chosen for you)
2. You pay the 400 - 800baht to the counter person for the massage either now or after the massage.
3. In room with the masseuse during massage, you pay her 1500 for full service. Or less for some other service.

Generally in the Oil massage places (that allow extras), the commission structure is rigged so that the girl needs to provide extras, otherwise she gets next to nothing (40-100B). So, if you do not intend to get any extras, it would be nice to tip her a few hundred baht.
For extras, it's normally 500B for HJ, 1,000B for BJ and 1,500B for FS (1 shot) or 2,000-2,500 B for 2 shots.

Don't normally order drinks at soapies, but if my memory serves me, the prices are about the same as the bar, if not slightly less.

just one more thing to annoy you with - taxi prices:
I came to bangkok a year ago and landed at the airport north of the city. is this now the old one?
either way, how much should I expect to pay for a taxi from airport to sukhumvit? (and do I tip?)
and as a random sample,
taxi from robinsons area in sukhumvit to evita on ratchadapisek...how much should I expect to pay?

If you get on a taxi that uses the meter, the prices will vary due to traffic conditions.
Taxi ride from the airport to Sukhumvit taken from the Departure level (so that you don't have to pay the airport surcharge of 50B) will cost you about 200 B (not including toll charges, which is about 70 B). Tipping not necessary, but then again, up to you.
Robinson to Evita: ~ 50-60 B (with light traffic).
Robinson to Ratchadapisek, no destination specified, let's say, Poseidon: ~70-90 B (again, depending on traffic).

Ok, stupid question alert.......hey, I am a newby. Generally, how much do you end up paying for the utilities over the couse of a month. I guess IŽll have the air-con on during the night and the tv for a few hours a day...no cooking, a daily shower. I get the feeling that some places have low rates, but then hit you with expenses.
Btw, I considering Greenery House (8-13k a month, my budget) with pool and gym, although the location could be a problem. I was also looking at Rompo Mansion and Sathorn Saint View, but IŽve since read some bad reports on them.
Alternatively, a hotel that will charge a monthy rate of no more than B15k.
Any thoughts?
