here's the GIK rules :
1. Don't be jealous, but you can be concerned/caring
2. You could have sex, but not necessarily
3. You don't have the right to ask for more than is reasonable
4. GIKs could become something more, but if it doesn't happen, don't be sad
5. Don't associate/share your GIK with friends
6. If your GIK takes another as their lover, you cannot interfere, but must accept it
7. Not necessary to Take Care of each other too much, since you're only GIKs
8. You can have as many GIKs as you like

the BGs will tell you it involves payment, but it doesn't if they are true GIKs
if you have chicks calling you for a booty call at 2am or even 5pm, then they're GIKs
but it's best to present yourself to them as their GIK, it's almost like a slave/master relationship to some
so,, if you're they're GIK, then they would consider themselves the Dom.
but,,, if they're your GIK, they might be considered the Sub.

I suspect the OP is confused by gik being so often capitalized, perhaps he's actually fishing for "what does it stand for" (Girlfriend in Korean?).
In our context it is not an acronym, but a Thai word that, as stated above, means a 'sex-friend' - someone with whom you have sex for fun, but no real serious commitments or intentions.
GIK can also mean 'Gift In Kind' - a way in which companies in particular can make benevolent donations to other organizations/countries. This definition can be stretched to cover the 'presents' you buy your gik or even P4P GFE-BG in addition to cash terms.
