here's food for thought.
assumption: majority of us meet the definition of addicts if we substitute girls with some sort of substance.
my question is, for someone who's never been to bkk, would you recommend it to your fellow mongerer?
i took a friend of mine (first time mongering) to my usual mongering destination the other day and it made me wonder if I would recommend it to myself if that were me 20yrs ago.
i just want to hear about what bkk vet's have to say about bkk in general.

i see the map but i'm trying to gauge SAFE night walking time between soi & mp's prior to choosing the hotel. I plan on spending lot of time going to dance clubs & visiting mp's in the end as back-ups daily!
First, while I'm sure you're a fabulous 'mongerer', what you call 'food for thought' couldn't sustain the least of us if we were in a medically-induced coma.
Second, speak for yourself, especially when you haven't been included in 'us', and you have NO idea who 'we' are.
You seem to have landed on the wrong planet: most of the guys here have been in Thailand, either as residents, or as frequent visitors for MANY years. They have always been cordial to newbies, at least those who ask sensible questions, and appreciate the answers.
But assuming they fit into your 'mongerer' definition (if a definition of a non-word is possible) is not likely to create much goodwill here. Many here have interests in Thailand and its culture, speak the language, and have chosen to make it their home.
You, on the other hand, seem to be unable to decide which sex-tourist destination suits your whim. You ask questions that have been answered ad nauseum on every Thailand-related forum, and offer silly assumptions in return.
Perhaps the World Sex Guide is more your speed, with it's plethora of 'mongerers'. I hear the AMP scene in St. Louis is very nice. Why not stay home?
Don't get me wrong; there IS sex in Thailand, and we are all glad for that. But don't ask to have it spoon fed to you, and don't get familiar above your station.

i'm not sure what to make of your reply. didnt mean to offend anyone. I certainly didn't think 'mongerer' carried any negative connotation with it.
that being said, my question was very vague. probably because it started as a two part question which I condensed into one at the last minute haphazardly.
however, you did answer my question. that thailand offers more than just sex, in other words, it can be an experience that I can't find at a local mongering spot.
i just wanted to know if i'm about to open a whole new can of worms or just dig deeper in my current can, aka mongering.

It was his whole series of posts, along with his 'mongerer' mindset that I reacted to.
In case 'mongerer' doesn't ring a bell, it's a corruption of 'whore monger', coined by a largely illiterate group who cruise the streets of mainly American cities, picking up crack whores, and sharing information about their 'hobby' on various web forums, like the old World Sex Guide (now split into the WSG and the USA Sex Guide). These are the guys who stop your grandmother, just in case she might be a little down on her luck, and needs to make rent, or ask your sister if she wants a 'date'.
Having been around all these forums since the '90s, and having known a few of the players, I stayed here at BTF because the rest had descended into "cruised xxx last night, saw 3 wsw and 2 bsw, got bj and fs for $1.5", etc.
I prefer to make it known that there is an element of appreciation of Thailand, and a certain decorum here, however meager  . As I stated, I have never seen anyone be unkind to newbies - quite the opposite - but this guy needs to know the score.
I don't presume to speak for anyone but myself, and I'm sure he will appreciate opposing views, but now you have mine.

Re-reading his last post confirms my distaste.
'Mongering' is 'whore mongering', and one recurrent theme here, at least in the good old days, is whether 'whore' is a word we want to apply to TGs (or BGs, specifically). I, for one, think it is a degrading, and demeaning way to refer to the women here, and don't think it applies.
I know, I know, others would disagree. I'm sure if Chompoo were still around, we could fill reams of forum space on this topic...
And THAT'S what this forum is all about.

hs, I'm a newbie to thailand, but been 'mongering' largely in united states.
when I say mongering, as I said before, I don't associate it with any negative connotation. the word just means "john" or "men who pays for sex" at least to me.
if the word alone bothered you, it was a simple misunderstanding.
i'm here to learn how to 'monger' joyfully in thailand. that to me just means i'll be paying for safe sex with pretty & nice girls who i'll find very attractive. it's always a tremendous pleasure to meet the locals or members in these mongering places, as I find that that's the only venue I can utilize to satisfy my need to make friends in such secretive however big part of my life.
the reason why I brought this up is because when I took my co-worker to my mongering spot (tijuana), I felt I made another best friend in the world but I had this queezy feeling about getting someone into something I truly enjoy yet not proud of at the same time. he's not newbie to mongering from what I heard, he was just newbie to tijuana which is a huge eye opener if you've been mongering the streets of usa for a long time.
i apologize in adv if I offended you. I never meant the word monger to mean anything other than paying for sex.
