Hi all, arriving again in Jan want to maximise my time in LOS and have other trips out of country planned.
However do not want book flights out until I get there. If I do not fill out the return flight card for entry visa will I encounter any probs?
All advice welcome.

If you do not have an actual visa and will just get the 30 days on arrival, then your airline may not let you check in.
If they do, immigration *could* refuse you entry as you are supposed to show your outward ticket, and the airline would be responsible for the costs of removing you.
Happened to a mate of mine a few years ago when he tried to check in. He simply bought the cheapest one way Thailand-anywhere flight and then cancelled it and got it refunded when he got to Thailand.

Why don't you fill out the departure card? I don't remember that return card having a date, I'm pretty sure it doesn't. I've never been asked for a return ticket either.

It asks for a flight or vessel number, just put any flight in there that leaves BKK if you want to be safe. I've had many instances where I deviated from the original flight number but they never gave me a problem.

I such case I just print a simulation ticket from BKK to kathmandu on a date that fit, and show it if they ask....
Since this simulation has date/time/airplane number and look like a plane ticket they dont look further....anyway its all in french so they cant read it LOL

... don't sweat it... this should be no issue... at all.
... in 15+ years based in BKK, flying nearly weekly for 5 of those years (hundreds of times, of which probably less than half with a return ticket), I've been stopped only once (by a by-the-book-only United agent at check-in in the US).
... as cited above by Finchy, I was prevented from boarding my flight to BKK... bought a cancellable 1-way ticket out of BKK, checked in and I think I even cancelled the return ticket before boarding my United flight.
... I have never been denied entry to Thailand hsving no return ticket.

Depends where you are flying out of.
I transit through the UK on my return journeys to BKK all the time and was always asked to show my onward flight out of Bangkok. I now have a non immigrant O visa so they allow it.
If you are coming from UK and don't have a visa other than expecting the 30 day on arrival you will have a problem if travelling from UK.
If you have a return flight from Bangkok and are only concerned about your travel outside Thailand whilst on your holiday then just dont fill in the departure section on your immigration form. They don't care about that.

If you encounter a problem, it will most likely be when you depart the Western country, not when you arrive in Thailand. Some airlines in some countries will not let you get on a flight to Thailand unless you have a) a visa or b) a ticket out of Thailand.
I've only been questioned on this twice, and both times I was able to sweet talk my way out of it (cute Korean Airlines and EVA staff on the US end, heheh).
I've never heard of anyone being asked to show evidence of onward travel when arriving in Thailand by Thai immigration.

As I didn't have a visa, but a return date longer than 30 days, I was once initially refused at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.
Although when I told her I would travel into Malaysia by bus, they allowed me to get on the plane.
