Looking to pick up a few purses for my sisters while in Bkk next trip. Any help in finding knock off bags will help also bringing them back (just a few). If you know the price of cigarettes and the amount of them you can bring back without getting into trouble that would be great too! Ramster

If you are coming back to the USA, you can legally bring back one fake item of each kind (one fake handbag, one fake watch, etc). This assumes that the fake items accompany you on your return (in your luggage or on your person when you pass through Customs). Items with counterfeit trademarks may not be legally shipped back to the USA in any quantity.
Of course the chances of getting caught if you bring back more than one item are probably less than 1 in 10 (depending what you look like). Same goes for shipping the items back. If you did bring back 2 fake handbags, I would put each in a different piece of luggage when you go through US Customs.
A US Citizen or permanent resident may bring back up to $800 in items purchased abroad before paying any import duties. Amounts over that are subject to a duty tax which ranges from 2% to 30% depending on the item.
The Customs policies of other countries may be different.

You can find those things around the patpong night market. Who's to say they are fake, only customs. Just list them on your declaration at what the price would be if they were real. The most you will get is maybe a modest duty if you are over your $800, and a big laugh from them if they notice they are fake and confiscate all but one.
As for cigs, you can bring 200 into the states, a carton, or 20 cigars. They never said a word about the 2 bottles of wine I brought back, sposed to be duty on the second bottle, or the 25 laotian cigars. They looked at them too. There really isn't any worry unless they get the feeling you are going to sell the stuff. Then you get hassled big time.
The one thing they will confiscate, and hassle you for is if you bring back cuban cigars, and get caught.....they do not like those.

If I list one wont that blow the all the $800.00 U.S. allowance? these things are not cheap (real ones) How much will the knock offs cost in Bkk.I have not heard of the Patpong night market will do a search for it thank you for all.
You say one of each item (one bag one watch ECT) so I guess they don't want you going back and selling them. Can you get one of a couple of different brands and take three bags or will that be pushing it? I will put one in each bag to break it up thank you for the tip!

One of each type item (one fake handbag, one fake watch, etc). You cannot legally bring back two fake handbags, one of each brand (trademark).
From the US Government website:
"For example, an arriving person who has three purses, whether each bears a different infringing [counterfeit] trademark, or whether all three bear the same infringing trademark, is permitted only one purse. If the article imported under the personal exemption provision is sold within one year after the date of importation, the article or its value is subject to forfeiture."
As previously stated, the chances of getting caught if you only bring back 2 handbags bearing counterfeit trademarks are fairly low, but I am just explaining the regulations.

About the 1/10 chance of getting stopped in customs. If this is US, they are really effective.
In Norway, I believe the chances are about 1/400 - if you're not travelling with drugs (picked up by dogs - good!) or looking like a terrorist...

I've brought back many items for friends. If you want a quality item, almost indistinguishable from the real thing, there are few places to go. Patpong has all the cheap stuff. The good stuff will cost you a pretty penny. It comes from Korea (don't buy from China).
The quality differences are immediate. There is one shop called the Money Clip. A really small place with almost nothing knockoff on display so they don't get busted. He's had to move twice since I've known him and he keeps most of his stuff in a car.
This place you can find at Siam Square Soi 3. If you're facing the mall, it's on your right hand side and has a few purses in the window maybe 3-5 shops from the corner. I have no affiliation with him whatsoever but I've bought knockoffs from many places before and the stuff he gets is really worth the extra $$$. Don't be fooled by the cheap stuff at MBK 1st floor.
The owner is this fuzzy spiky haired middle aged guy, really nice. I have several phone numbers on his business card:

I like the drag idea myself, but thats just me, I mean this way you can get a dress, panty hose, sexy underwear, shoes, hat, makeup case full of makeup, purse and a bag all at once. If your cunning enough, you could buy one big bag and put several decreasing in size bags inside them. You know how guys hate to look in a womans handbag because of all the shit in it, well you would get away with at 5 or 6 that way.
If you like designer underwear, I am sure you could wear several sets under your dress also.
