Something I would like to know:
Was in Pantip last week and bought from several vendors "DVD's" and computer applications.
1.) about 50% of the discs I bought my computer can't read !!!! (I've got a DVD player / CD- Burner combo, and as I get the statement "please insert disc" I assume those discs I bought were non-formated/empty!)
2.) was offered "DVD's" but what I got was video-cd's
Did anyone have similar experiences?

Was in Panthip Thursday. Was amazed, only in Thailand would they fill a huge shopping center with computer hardware and such. Crazy.
But the prices seemed high. No point for me buying there as I could get it at least as cheap in Norway.

Here's a Pantip trivia question for ya:
Does anyone know if there's a dock AND if the boats will stop at it, on the klong sang saeb which is located just behind Pantip?
Seems to me it could make for a viable short-cut if there were.

Gohok!  Maybe there was, but it's all fenced off and inaccesible today. Gal in the back, at the parking toll booth, said the nearest is World Trade Centers' dock.

High end electronics in Thailand are a rip off. Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong are much better places to buy cameras, laptops, and whatever else. You can blame the government for this, I believe the reason why Thailand lags behind the other SE asian countries in tech prices is because of the goofy luxury/import taxes levied on electronics.

Jing lau? Damn! All I was was one solid line of fencing, and when I asked the parking girl she said it was a no go. I guess I should have walked to the other end to confirm that.
Well, I'll try again today, my fav. Apple software shop had closed early yesterday so it was a wasted trip.
One more ques: Anyone know a PC vendor that carries Small Form Factor PC's there?
