So if you get caught, well, they will just keep your money and maybe place a nice RED stamp on your passport....

Do not forget to add exchange and administrative fees anywhere from 2-4%, that is unless you are a bank.
Most countries have laws limiting how much cash you can carry out of the country. It has to do with the International Money Laundering Convention.
The PI was not regulating currency outflows in 2003 so the international banking system shut down all transfers/exchanges for Pesos until they complied. Macau faced the same problems this year.
So go ahead and try your scam and we will see your face on an Interpol poster.
For those who are waiting for the USD to recover, do not hold your breath. A weak dollar is the only thing supporting the US economy now so there will not be any moves by anyone to strenghten it...

If you have Euro accounts, transfer your surplus into Euros, and at least prevent 10-15% loss in value over the same timeframe by keeping your money in Euro currency.

Only 50,000 baht. But you can bring in much larger amounts of other currencies and carry trade from within. Many from China do it using Hong Kong Dollars via the Baht.
BTW, a week US dollar is the only thing *screwing* the American economy, right now, IMHO.

Thai short term interest rates were dropped 50 basis points last week from 4.5% to 4%. It's expected at the next meeting, they will be dropped another 50 basis points from 4% to 3.5%.

quack quack,, Short term the USD is a sitting duck.Don't get me wrong,, the US economy is NOT that bad,, but out-flows to finance wars ARE expensive.
Fortunately for many of us visitors to LOS the Thai government in the last several months has invested some 12 BILLION in USD,,, OHH dear,, investing in a devaluing currency is not that smart.Export prices of Thai goods have risen sharply,,reducing demand and tourism especially from Japan is dropping rapidly ( because it is more expensive).
Add to the formula,recent and planned decreases in interest rates in order to stimulate a slowing economy and we have a situation rife for the Thai Baht to weaken,substantially.
