There is a fairly new hi-so hangout in Thonglor called H1 (pronounced H One) which might be of interest to some members.
Essentially it consists of 4 or 5 upmarket restaurants come clubs. The basic concept being a bit like Bed Supperclub - you can eat there but you can also hangout and chill with resident DJs. By the way, this concept definitely seems to be the trend now in Bangkok - with the clubs closing at 1.00am many people cant be bothered to go. They just hangout and drink and chat at their restaurant. (Sirocco (with Distil) is the same concept as is The Face).
The restaurants are all interesting but pricey. The scene is young/rich/trendy Thais (they may move on to Bombay which is virtually upstairs). Tata and Boy were there last night.
H1 is located at the bottom of Thonglor next to Petchburi on the right handside if you are coming from Sukhumvit.
The restaurants include...
Extase. Italian (with a touch of fusion). Interesting dishes but wouldnt threaten the top Italians in terms of food quality (I am not sure this necessary matters - the same applies to Sirocco/Face/Bed).
Chi. Very interesting Japanese/California/Thai fusion (with strong Japanese accent). Imaginative cocktails too. Definitely worth a visit.
To Die For. Havent eaten their yet. But French and the most popular hangout in H1.
Hay. Little more than a glorified coffee shop but seems very popular.
These places are not pick up joints but are a good place to take a TG to impress her. Also fun and easy place to hangout and down a few.
(I realise this thread is probably inappropriate for this forum in its current state but, you know, there was a time when members would have been interested...)

Are you starting to feel desesperate with the way the board is going or it is just you ?
As I am going trough a post brokenheart depression I can understand that state of mind.
For the record I was in the pong last nite having a bacardi typing few SMS then I realized the girls on stage where all ugly. Went to caribbean with a buddy and only a couple of dancers were looking lovely (I was already intoxicated though).
Assuming I can emerge from this sad period of time I will give a try to H1.
Btw, Tata young and I are sharing the same dentist !

The link is to a website in Thai but at least it has photos etc.
It is located on the right hand side of Thonglor, next and above H1 and just by the bridge which crosses Phetburi.
It is very popular and crowded even in the week days - couldnt get a seat at 11.00pm.
A bit like Booze but definitely more hi-so, more pricey (although nothing like Q Bar) and in my view less fun. There is a Thai band but even most of the girls dont dance.
Decor is half Indian, half Thai and half British Rail... (Errr no freelancers but plenty of cute chicks)

Siam Familly center in Siam Square. I saw her once in the waiting room but didn't reco her. When I asked why all the people were so nice with her, a girl told me it was Tata young.
Later I talk to my dentist whom told me she is a regular customer....
