hi guys.
do any of you eat in chinatown.
i prefer chinese to thai,but on last trip scoffed myself with swenssons and kfc.any decent chinese food places in bkk.which street/soi would be great.i get lost in chinatown and thats with a girl aswell.

There are some outstanding Swensons and KFCs in Chinatown as well, plus some Mc Donalds and 7-11s to scoff.
And you can pick up something called a 'map' to keep from geting lost. Find a girl to read one to you if you can't.

Plenty of decent Chinese food places in Chinatown. I had dinner in Chinatown on several occasions, but I don't remember the names of the restaurants. One was on Yaowarat Road, close to the White Orchid Hotel. Take a taxi to White Orchid and walk along the main street, just take a chance at restaurants that looks crowded.

Yong Lee at Sukhumvit and Soi 15. One of the oldest cafes in Bkk.
Ambassador Hotel has a great Dim Sum lunch buffet for 4$. After that head to Mermaids for a nice Balls Sum massage for siesta and than to Beer Garden for a nice release of your Dim Sum balls.

if you want a truly epic chinese meal and don't mind paying for it, try the chinese restaurant at the Oriental hotel.
You have to dress for the occasion! IMHO - the best I have ever experienced in BKK

silom plaza, lots of chinese stuff like porridge and hot pot
silom soi 19 (opposite central silom), 24 hr joint serving chinese hand made noodles and dumplings..
sun moon rest (yellow sign board) at beginning of soi ngam du plee, off rama 4.. its same soi as hotel malaysia or the st hotel that freelancers at lumpini park will bring u for thb 500

Police feat saves chicken feet from feasts

Thai police seized 20 tonnes of chicken feet that had been smuggled in to the country from neighbouring Malaysia, news reports said Saturday.
Police intercepted the contraband delicacies Friday at a checkpoint in the southern province of Pahtthalung. The fowl feet had been packed in plastic bags and stored in a freezer on a 10-wheel truck.
Nikom Chumthong, the driver, was arrested and charged with illegally smuggling prohibited products.
Chicken feet are a popular culinary treat at Chinese restaurants.

Lots of Chinese food in BKK.
Have to be.
In BKK they have Thai-Teochew locals.
And throngs of Chinese tourists from PRC, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia.
Of course Chinatown has Chinese food.
Most hotels popular with the Chinese have Chinese restaurants.
Grand Diamond has a good eating place on the ground floor and 2nd sty.

there is a place off silom...no name one of those shop house deals...
my friends and I called it green table as the table tops were green...not to mix words it f***ing rocked...and I cant wait to go there on my next vacation in may...
it is on the same side as the entrance to assumption college (the prathom school) and the owner looks like a thai/chinese jerry garcia......you wont find any mongolian beef or chinese american food but a damn good dinner..just about everything is great and they are packed night in and out...

Doesn't sound like my style restaurant, but someone else might want to eat there. So could you please post better directions?
Assumption College (private elementary Catholic boys school) is a ways down Sathorn Soi 11; its front entrance opens east. You say this restaurant is off Silom.
