PL69: The Mercure On Soi 22 has a good brunch on the weekends and holidays. Good individual pizzas, pastas, prosciutto, shrimp, and salady stuff. 5 or 6 hundo as I remember. Great deals (for Thailand) on wine as well. (2 fer 1s.) wj

I've always enjoyed the Novotel buffet dinners (650++) and Lunches (550++) in their Square restaurant, I find the food plentiful with a good mixture of seafood, western food, Thai food and other Asian foods, prices are approx.
I also believe there is an excellent value buffet at King Powers new hotel (is it Pullman?) They have various deals but I believe Tuesday evenings are all you can eat pasta dishes along with all you can drink wine, about 500++ I recall.

so no 5* hotel ever does a reasonably priced buffet?
so in between 20baht soi noodles and 20,000 baht at mezzaluna state tower, isnt 1,200 baht for unlimited extensive 5* buffet considered reasonable?
sorry but yes I think $30 is reasonable for huge 5* unlimited buffet
anyone who has stayed at shangri-la would agree
i would call 600 baht a "cheap" buffet
but then I think 5,000 baht for a huge suite in a 5* hotel is reasonable too
perhaps you could have clarified that reasonable TO YOU was less than 1,000 baht ?

Unfortunately PL69 doesn't stay at the Shangri-la like the rest of us. He likes The Sahara Hotel.

I think its reasonable as its not a typical 5* hotels buffet price !
This is the price for the Shangri-la on the river ? ++ or ?
By the way, why is the USD conversion relevant ? This implies that you could not get such great value for USD 30 in the US, which is not relevant as we are not in the US. Lets keep it Thai people.

And yes, I did stayed for 5 nights at Bangkok Sahara Hotel (Sukhumvit Soi 5) in early May 2009
