I could actually add a little something to "sukhumvit plaza" or "korean plaza" as the koreans call it.

working for a korean owned group of companies I visit this plaza once or twice a week.

best place "Jang Won". the calbi is the best and the side dishes watch out for the raw crab kimchi, sensational.

an interesting addition is the newly opened korean sushi restaurant (by the former owner of Jang Won). it is 2 doors down from jang won.

and if you want some karaoke "Paradise" on the top floor. good sound system, nice room, wide english selsction of songs and always nice female company.

another good choice is "Seoul Jib" on soi 33, "jadol begi" being their signature dish. a frozen thin slized tender beef (reminds me of kobe) that is put on the barbecue. SJ is just before "The Office".

I love Soju in the evening. the next morning is a different matter.

see above.

all the rest, e.g. the little side dishes (mostly kimchi), salad, rice, miso soup etc. come automatically.

and don't forget to order Soju, the korean version of sake. tastes best if put in a pot with chopped cucumbers.

i'm impressed with your knowledge of korean foods in general. if I had known last week, we could have had few rounds of Soju.

Tried the Korean restaurant in Time Square Plaza between Suk 12 and 14 (right next to the exit from the skytrain ASOK station on the 2nd floor). It was ok, ordered the Galbi Tang (Beef Rib soup) which was terrible, one of the worst I ever had. Had no flavor at all and the meat (just couple of small slices) tasted like it was left in the refrigerator for a week. The beef BBQ was ok with fairly fresh vegetable. Overall I would give it a miss given the other good Korean places around BKK.

Just went to little Korea (near Suk Soi 12) at a restaurant called Arirang. I think this is a relatively new place. The food was quite good, I had the BBQ Galbi, Galbi Soup and Bibimbap. Everything tasted authentic and good quality. Be warn that they do tack on a 10% service charge. It didn't bother me too much since I usually tip more, however some people might mind that

If you know of some other good Korean place please let everyone know. There are a lot of Korean restaurants in BKK, however I find it hard to find a very good one. Most are mediocre at best. BTW, anyone knows of a good Korean restaurant in Pattaya? I used to go to one on 3rd road Pattaya, unfortunately their food quality has gone downhill. So now I am looking for a replacement
