Taco Smell???? EVERY last one should be closed and the land they are built on declared a toxic waste site. Total complete sh_t, but, I guess, there are those that like melted plastic arranged on a plate to look like Mexican food. Total fu__ing garbage.
There are TOO many American franchises in Thailand as it is and there should be LESS American influence, not more. As it it, BKK is starting to look more like LA than LA. Last February I was walking behind a French couple that had just come out of their hotel on Soi 5. The wife looked around and said to the husband, "but everything is so American." To quote that great American, Archie Bunker, "Enough already!"
Oh Taco Bell is complete crap when sober, but if you're smashed into oblivion it is great (with about 20 of those hot sauce packets added to each taco).

AMEN on White Castle. The frozen ones from the market are OK if there's not a White Castle where you live (as is my case) but nothing beats buying 'em by the sack from the place itself.

Screw that! What they need to build in Bangkok is a Hooters restaurant. 
Hell..even a White Castle. If they're so cheap already in the U.S., imagine how cheap they'd be over there.

This list can not be complete without Taco Bell for any USA resident. I swear if I had the money I'd open a Taco Bell on Sukhumvit half way between Cowboy and Nana. Operating hours would be 20:00 to 06:00.
Of course cold beer would also be sold.

There is a Pub named Hooters in Bangkok already. I visited there a couple years ago. Not the same as Hooters in the USA though. DAMN IT!

sorry to hear about that. the hamburger outside NEP is actually the only I eat in LOS, and that actually only when I am pissed. I just love to eat thai food, and cannot be bothered to eat hamburgers. to answer your question, I have never had a problem. maybe the alcohol killed all the bacteria.

I also agree that the burgers at Nana are tasty, and I've never had a problem with them. But I did get very sick from frozen White Castle's I bought at an Albertsons in vegas last week. It was 116 F, and I was dying of thirst, but couldn't keep down tap water.
