a couple of thoughts.... I have brought all kinds of food from the U.S. but never steaks.... a whole lot of fruit.... imagine sitting with a TG and giving her cherries, peaqches and black berries.... they love it !!!!! Next trip I will bring steaks.... just put a cooler in a box and ship it with your suitcase.... then arrange ahead of time for someone with a BBQ to cook them up..... invite a group of ho's to the party and enjoy.
But the story is different fro tg's in the U.S..... they are spoiled on red meat already. nothing impresses them.
Just tonight the wife was looking at a supermarket add in the paper and already cut out the coupons for rib eye steaks.... no messing around, she knows what she likes.

A fellow member recommended this place, but since some other member keeps on flaming him, he has decided not to post anymore. I didn't try the steak myself, but I did try a portion of the burger, and it was great. Prices are generally higher, quality, service and ambience is great. And of course you have a good selection of beer.

Recently sampled the beef filet at Basilco Italian restaurant on Suk soi 33. I am known to be a big fan of the NY Steakhouse at the Marriott, but will admit this cut of beef with its accompanying sauce was one of the best pieces of beef I have had in LOS. I am confident RTB will second this opinion.

nice and tender, cooked perfectly, accompagnied by a very nice and rich cream sauce.
I think that I will try one tonight at basilico on 20, see if it is equally delicious.

It's Aussie beef,,, hard to wreck it.
We do however have a problem here,, the price of lamb has risen 300% !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WTF,, seems the riche Thai's / chinese etc have finally realised how good our lamb is,,,,,,, At the moment Crayfish ( Looks like Lobster,, is called Lobster in Thailand ) is CHEAPER than decenty cuts of lamb.

haven't seen any price impact yet. my buddy had an excellent lambshank (australian) yesterday at chesa restaurant
(I had sausage and cheese salad with roesti) and the
price had not risen yet.
over to the steaks again.

The only Steakhouse is in the JW Marriott... but bring a safe with you as it makes Mortons look cheap.
That being said it is a good steak...
