Damn, PhantomV, are you some ignorant son of a .... or what.
Have your parents Ưnot tought you that being respectful of others is not a crime. When you say "Issarn Baboons" you insult most if not all of the board members, not to mention a lot of Thai girls as well. I guess the girls in Thailand are really happy to see you go to Kabul.

Can't totally agree with Phantom V but also can't totally be against.....saw a score of Isaan ladies with no clue on how to use the cutlery: an embarassment for the lady and for the farang too.....
And yes, most of thai ladies don't appreciate farang food, no matter from which country......give'em some decent thai food and they'll be ok......

I am neither a baboon -thus do not feel insulted by being called Issarn- nor I am from Issarn -thus, I do not feel I am being called a Baboon. So at least I am not being insulted.
Mickyk, why do you say most members are being insulted? Are most members either baboons or from Issarn. Please explain.
PhantomV, members are not that interested in taking the girl to have good food. They want the food for themselves and want the company of the girl while having dinner. The side effect is that she gets to eat that fancy food.
However, you are right that she does not appreciate that fancy food so much. If the intention is to make the girl happy, the best treat for one such girl is to take her to an upmarket Issan/Laotian restaurant.

I would think it is obvious why I think members are insulted, at least I can explain why I am.
When PhantomV compared Issaan girls to Baboons he is actually saying that they are a lower life form. Like what the Nazi's did say about the Jews in the 1930's and during the 2nd world war. Which culminated in the death of millions.
So a passing reference to Issaan Baboons makes me sick. It is the same bigotry you saw during the slavery period in the Southern states of the USA. While in public the white masters said they detested blacks, they loved to have sex with them when out of the public eye.
Anyway, it al boils down to this. Who are YOU having sex with during your stay in Thailand. Beautiful Thai girls (mostly from the Issaan region) or Baboons. If you do not care about this description, fine, but I do care.
On one thing I can agree with you and PhantomV. Do not take your average Thai girl to a fancy (foreign) restaurant. It makes her feel out of place (and lose face) and uncomfortable. That's as far as I go to agreeing though.

When you say Issarn, or Issaan, do you mean Issan? It seems to me that many Farangs (of which I am one) are not born knowing how to use knives and forks and spoons.... let alone chop sticks (and most still don't know how to use chopsticks, or appropriate table manners when using them). Is anyone does not know their table manners.... you ought to teach them. Seems to me to be a good way to communicate.
