having suffered through parts of the american south, I know the sweet tea you speak of; and it's sick. but, regardless of my bias against it, if it's what you want...then...you're out of luck. simply, they don't have it here exactly like you like. there was once a place in manila that did have it - a creole place. maybe try to find a creole place in bkk? i'm not good with that sorta food - I usually stick with sushi, steaks and beers. but you can't knock the american bbq place - it's a lot better than may establishments in the city.

Hemisphere is an English language word that has this meaning (among others) according to my dictionary:
"one half of the Earth, especially a half north or south of the equator or west or east of the prime meridian."
The terms Western Hemisphere (North and South America) and Eastern Hemisphere (Europe, Asia, and Africa) are commonly used in American English.

wrong. the dictionaries aren't always right. words are generally defined by how they are most commonly used in every day usage/life. 99% of mankind divide the earth into 2 hemispheres: the northern and sothern ones. as such, while perhaps you are technically correct, you're still wrong. mexico is in the same hemisphere as thailand.

BTW – no offense taken to any of the replies to my posts. It would certainly take more to push my buttons – especially in reply to a food/ restaurant based thread.
While I am not a fan of GAR’s BBQ, I do like the Mexican, and occasionally the pulled pork. So I still eat there once in a while – actually have it delivered more than going there, as I find it difficult some time to get a taxi.

It's certainly not an American beverage, or a European one...
Sweet tea can be found in southern or soul food restaurants in the US. M & M Soul Food (several branches around Los Angeles) serves sweet and unsweetened iced teas. I'm not fond of it -- I'd rather flavor my ice tea with lemon than sugar.

I've been to this place two in the last six months. I soooo WANT to like it, but I can't. It's just terrible food and service.
Second time was last Monday, when I tried the mexican buffet. Bland food and served cold. I called over the waiter to complain and even before he got to me and I had a chance to open my mouth, he said 'food cold?'.
I mean. WTF? If he knew my complaint in advance, why bother serving it to me?
I won't be back.
