when i am on the road i get a craving for junk food i.e mcdonalds or burger king etc
i would not be seen dead in one at home and dont eat junk food at all its a bit strange
i was wondering what sort of food cravings other people have when on the road !!!!

I am not craving for farang food at all because I am craving for good Thai food all year long so when there it's almost only Thai food and not the Thai tourist food but the real spicy one.

After awhile I crave a good steak. At Chok Jai they have a premuim bacon wrapped filet mignon (560 Baht) that will rival the best in the West. Chok Jai is a must stop for me (outside of Khorat).

I don't really eat much differently in BKK than in the US. There are many good Thai, Chinese, and Vietnamese restaurants in the US, which usually have access to higher quality ingredients (especially meats) than available in BKK. Obviously, the food is cheaper in BKK, and you may find some of the more unusual items not found in the US. But the Asian food in the US is nothing to complain about.
About the only thing I found to be lacking in BKK is good Mexican food (which is also lacking in many parts of the US).

Speaking personally, I do tend to crave a little western food like pizza or an english roast after spending a little time in LOS. Even though I rarely eat this kind of stuff at home, sometimes there is something comforting about eating pie and chips (fries to our american friends) washed down with a pint of Guinness.
I love thai food and enjoy eating thai and asian food almost all the time, especially since western food generally makes me ill even at home.
But there is something irrestible about the odd bacon roll, real british sausages and other similar fare.
The strange thing is I really hate the type of person who tends to eat this stuff. As our US friends say go figure?
