Lamentations are being sung! 
It is the last night in town for a couple of us and I want to enjoy it to the last. Start the day with a trip to Major Ekammai. Get good coffee and decent Thai food at Black canyon. Try to go up to Major Bowl, but the place is packed today, no lanes available and there is a wait. If you want to go bowling this is very convenient from the sky train, on suk between soi 61/63.
Train it back to Emporium to look around. Many farangs here and the shops are very upscale=expensive. Watch my third movie of the week at the theatre here. Saw movies at MBK, Ekammai and Emporium. All theatres are very nice, modern, clean. Gotta love the prices compared to USA! 
After a quick pitstop at hotel head over to Bamboo to hook up with Cmore. Get to meet a few of the brothers cheers  to Bestmate, Padawan, Thaitraveler, chrisboy and BK. Sorry if I forgot anyone, I was a little distracted by my impending departure from LOS. After getting things sorted out, it winds up being just four of us headed out to Baiyoke. My tgf and I got to do many things this week for the first time together. This dinner would be the last of this trip.
The ride over is uneventful. There are night markets all over BKK, there is one near Baiyoke. Did I mention before how handy it is to have a tg with you when taxiing around LOS! 
Figuring out the elevators is a little game. You take one elevator up to the hotel lobby, where you purcahse tickets for dinner. 400 baht for buffet and free trip to observation deck with rotating outer ring, for 360 degree view of BKK. You take another elevator up to 77th floor and walk up to restaurant on 78th floor. Spectacular views of BKK from up here. Half to 2/3 of windows are covered with that DTAC sign. Ask to be seated on the side that is clear, if available. This place is awesome! There is a selection of food from around the world laid out around the circular room. There is literally something for any taste. Food taste was good and deserts were ok. We've got the Heineken draft flowing and everyone is making merry!  After a sumptuous meal we trundle back to the elevator for a trip up to the outside observation deck. It is a non rainy night in BKK and the view is spectacular. Find a spot and the city rotates before your eyes.  This is like a low tech disney ride and is quite intoxicating on the night of my departure. Tonight the view is painful, as I leave in less than 8 hours! 
We head out for a trip back to Bamboo to see who is up and what is on. Tgf and I change into more comfortable clothes, while Cmore goes and BF's another Bros tg again for a night off. Cmore is such a nice guy.  Six of us head out to Tawandaeng thai beergarden a way out Phetchburi, four tg's and two farang. This place is quite a sight. I think Cmore and I are the only farang in the place. It is the end of the month and the place is packed. They have a live band with different male and female singers taking turns singing thai songs. I recognise one song my tgf sang to me in karaoke at Cha-Am. I feel very comfortable here, the crowd is friendly and having a great time. We have eaten just about two hours ago, but more platters of food are ordered and consumed. More beer for everyone. Sanook sanan.  Thai dancers go up on stage for some traditional thai dancing. I find out my tg learned traditonal thai dancing when she was a kid. It is quite endearing to watch her mimic the arm movements as the dancers move around onstage. Time for me to call it a vacation and head back to the hotel for last minute festivities and sadness before the long ride in the iron boxes! 
Brother Cmore it was a pleasure hanging with you! I hope you had a great time also. I hope to see you in LOS again in the future. I know you are making your last trip next year. We shall see!

I am going to try out the Baiyoke Sky Restaurant on my next visit. Has anyone tried the "Rooftop Bar" on the 83rd floor? Is this place worth a visit for a few drinks?
Also, in your opinion, do you think the Rest. is the best place to dine in BKK for a view of the city?
