Yo,
A buddy of mine is being sent down to Phuket for a few months to scope out potential Scandinavian clients.....he is Danish and BK and RTB you both have met him...
He has looked on the web, but asked me to pose it here....I still dont know why he isnt a member, as he likes Toxic and enjoyed dinner and soi cowboy with you BK 
I used to live in Nai Harn, and had a sweet house for 12,000 baht a month, but that was 4 years ago..
His company is paying and he was given 30,000 baht a month as a housing allowance, probably a short term lease....any suggestions? preferably from personal experiences...
maybe something like a Citadines would suffice...but I havent been to Phuket since moving back to the states and am clueless...
any tips are appreciated..

Pre-booking Thai apartments seems easy from the net property mangers listings..... but many are corporate owned from Bangkok or elsewhere and list their sales condos and villas or god only knows what?... you really never know what the rooms layouts are like, the apartments ammenities, and the surrounding enviroments etc
Best is to book short time room for a few days then scooter around for long term apartment, villa, or larger house..... you can also go see local based property mangers or even better yet many nice Thais own good location homes and apartments to cut better rates / deals with.... I once traded local Thai business some computer hardware install /fix work for two week stay in one of thier studio condos.... driving around different locations / villages in Phuket is best....Karon Kata Patong etc or Phuket City even cheaper...there is a larger high rise condo in Karon beach area...I think its the Waterfront...do a net check?.. I used to pre book but now only few days and take walk in appoach and find the best bang for the buck.... the net only shows the good features of anyplace.... a lot of bulletin boards show rentals as well by private owned.... on the beach or up in the hills ? by the parties or away in quiet locations ? there are many places to be had even in high season....Thailand is very transient and has many properties choose 4-5 star places for 2-3 star pricing.

many listings for rentals too.... still sight unseen deals ? watch out for the corporation again they will market everywhere if it looks too nice ? buyer beware etc

they show photos too try to get local deals best... prices 15k-30k / mn should be no problem best is to drive araound and view then make deals
many times Ive per booked only to regret later... lots of construction on new projects
