You were not smart enough to just ask the question and step away. ÝYou put the caveat in that you didn't want information from anybody unless they had imported a car. ÝSince in my long years of visiting and living in Thailand I have only known two (2) people that tried to import a vehicle, you were certainly limiting your choices. ÝParticularly since one of them has since died and the other one is in Germany now. Ý
I tried to help by posting a source that I located in Google. You could have found out the same information in 30 seconds that I did and would not have had to ask the question at all.
Sorry we all pissed you off but you are a flaming waiting to happen if you keep up this stuff. ÝPlay it cool and everybody else will also.

see my answer.
eventhough it is a year old, it is still valid. my girl just confirmed the tax rates.
however this is for a car with bhp 220, so it might come down for a weaker vehicle (morris mini minor for example).
but however, HIS car cannot be imported at all. it is to old, or not old enough to qualify as an oldtimer.

I read that. the problem is that I am with the swiss army knife gang.
we are getting THE swiss tank (hardly ever used and well maintained) that the thai army wanted to buy recently.
and forget about the camels, they don't do well in our humid climate (only 14 steps per gallon).

This should solve the humidity problem as submarines seem to work best under high humidity conditions. Aha, unless you know the secret knock, TWD is too smartly to open the hatch to an unannounced diver armed with only a swiss army knife. ÝHe will use an oar (spelled properly) to remove your diver from the boat and sink him to the bottom with your WW Eye Eye German tiger tank. ÝYour divers in Pattaya Bay will not live in the fetid water there long enough to reach our submarines and they will die of the toxin contained in the waters.
We will not need or require our French rifles that have been dropped but never fired. ÝWe will make you think we are committing suicide with them whilst we are shooting any divers that are still alive.
My scenario is much more believable than your scenario.
A new rule out now is we can hijack any thread that is spelled incorrectly.
