Since a lot of people seem to get upset from newbies asking to meet for drinks / get shown round, might it be a good idea just to have a thread for that?
A lot of folk might not be able to make it for a round table or dont want to for some reason. Some might not want to take weeks to build up posts before asking etc etc etc
That way people could meet any time not just weekends or place, not just bkk.
Just a thought.

I keep meeting newbies and non-newbies all the time. Even strange newbies.
Only yesterday... I met 2 newbies (to me) at 2 different places. One by chance: the guy next to me at a cybercafe. Yes, we exchanged phone numbers etc. Another one at a place where I met also an older bro. At a 3rd place I met another more senior member. At a 4th place I met a bro's GF and invited her for dinner -no, I didn't do the bros' girl; not this time : (
See? we here are meeting all the time.

i would definately avoid Members after the crap on the Forum lately.
wouldn't want to waste my time on idiots who have taken the Forum so far downhill.

rtb, how can you possibly not meet any newbies? they are the ones sweating profusely, tripping over their tongues and in the case of all the UK newbies I have met, acting like a typical bunch of Millwall fans. For those of you lucky enuff not to know wot they are like - you are indeed blessed. Meeting up with newbies is such a good crack, like seeing a small child's face when they open a crimbo pressie..... ah, the joy.
