Texas, has got to be ranked in the top 2 with Colt coming back and if Tebow stays (which speculations are he will) every starting D-Lineman on Florida is an underclassman and the entire D-Line will return...they look incredible...

Hard to say whether Tebow will come back, but I just don't see him as a high draft pick at QB position. Maybe some other position, but again, not a high pick.

People got all excited about Vince Young's potential, but I think everyone has sobered up and now realize that a QB still have be an excellent drop-back passer to be a star in the NFL, regardless of whatever other qualities they have.

Here is my take......

I Agree...Tebow is a late second rounder and speculations are that New England Pats are very interested......they want to have him as a "project" QB.

From what the talk is Bill wants to use him to mix up the offense....I mean he could be a threat to pass or run...and no doubt about it he aint afraid to get physical..

Shit, did you see him in that title game?

f*** sliding he was like "here is my elbow bitch" and got 3 yards after every initial hit.....

I think Tebow will stay and go for 3 national titles and cement his legacy in college football....

and Mr Alan....I will admit that I loved Michael Vick (dumb mother f***er) and the excitement he brought but agree a drop back, pocket passer is what is successful in the NFL...

*edit in*

I just think you would want a guy like Tebow based simply on the fact he is the personification of the term "winner"....probably the most charasmatic guy in college football now and that is something you can use somewhere....my 2 cents!

watch the last 30 seconds of this vid and tell me he is not a winner and backs up his talk.....seriously I am a dawg fan and that shit made me jealous we dont have a guy like that as our leader....

the problem with the pros is that all of a sudden EVERYONE is a stud..... passes that used to be routine are now picked off,.... runners get caught (ask how Reggie Bush feels now), etc.....

Also, when you are in the pros, all that rah-rah stuff doesn't go as far as it does in college, especially when you are rookie. You have to have a more even keel in the pros. At Florida, with the talent they have along-side Tebow, they can win 90% of their games blindfolded. In the pros, most of the "better" teams win only about 70-80% of the time, and that is when you are lucky and get drafted by a good team (which usually doesn't happen to any of the top 10 draft picks).

If he were to go.....the speculations are New England in the second round...they seem to be the only team to place a serious interest..

You are correct, the NFL is whole different ball game....and Ray Lewis putting a hit on you aint Joe Schmoe that will be a businessman after graduation......

I just can respect what he brings as a leader and that is why I feel 75% Tebow will come back and go for 3 Titles...By the way, has anyone ever gotten 3 rings in college? I seriously dont know.....

Also, a buddy of mine that I went to UGA with and whose parents met in college at Florida (house divided to say the least LOL)....feels Tebow will be a decent pick up but will eventually make a splash as a head coach in college or the NFL in 15 or 20 years.....he has an interesting point....

Although, Tebow is an uber religious kid who (I am pretty sure) was born in the Philippines where his parents run a missionary and I know he spends summers there...he has made comments about "Serving the Lord" (I doubt it though)...but you never know...

Even as a Dawg (we will suck next year regardless) I want him to come back and go for 3....that would be something!

cheers guys,

Belichick was at the BCS National Championship game in one of the suites (they showed him on TV). I don't know if that is where the "interest" is assumed, but they usually like to keep their draft intentions a secret. If the Patriots actually announced that they were interested in Tebow, he probably would not be available by the time their draft pick came up. If there was no know interest, he might be available. Warren Buffet didn’t get rich by announcing in advance his intention to make large stock purchases.

Regarding the leadership thing, in the pros players are more self-motivated and more focused. Leadership is more delivering in the clutch rather than rah-rah attitude. Look at the successful head coaches in the NFL, most of the better ones are fairly low key.

If Tebow did well in the pros, he could donate a lot of money to the missionary work, so I think his family would support that (they were at the game also).

Mr Alan,

*edit in* I aint a Gator loyalist at all...not in the least bit...my admiration is based on the fear/respect that all of us in the SEC have for him...

I didnt see Bill at the game...that is interesting but where I got it from is that Thomas Demetrov (sp?) the Falcons New GM and former GM or Asst GM at New England (I cant remember which) and was pretty much responsible for our turn around and the pick of Matt Ryan and Michael Turner was on an Atlanta sports radio talk show and when asked said something like this:

"Do you still keep in contact with your old team?"

"Yes, Bill and I still speak on a regular basis."

"Of the kids coming out, who does NE have their eye on?"

"Well I dont know, but in our last conversation Bill said he feels that the possibilities with Tebow are incredible."

"So are the Pats going after Tebow?

"Well, again I dont know, but I know Bill and his style and the impression I got from the conversation was that in the 2nd round if he is available...he would take him and make him a "project" QB"

That may not have made it around the media circulations but was said in an interview and Demetrov (sp?) was a former "big wig" in New England until last year...this was about 2 months ago....

we will see...but if I had to bet...Tebow will stay in College....

I wasn't doubting that Belichick said those things, but I am sure he didn't want it publicized like that. I am surprised that he mentioned to the Falcons. A 2nd round pick for New England is the number 47 pick overall in 2009 draft, and probably around 60th pick in 2010 if they make the playoffs next year.

The problem with a "project" QB is that Brady is still young, and I am not sure that Tebow would want to sit on the bench that long. I wonder what other position he might be able to play?

they will trade brady while he still has value... Casselll reallly turned ito this year, scored my a shit load of points in our league.

I always felt it was easy to be a QB at a big time school when you are surrounded by talent.... when the talent evens out, your advantage is gone.... sort of 'the emporer has not clothes".... Lienhart was great at USC, but arm strength was always a question... in the NFL, the truth came out.... also, some guy sare 'system' guys.... almost any qb woul dbe fine, just follow the system... Holgrem has proved that...... Warner to the halll of fame, shit, give the guy credit for what he has done......

a coupl eo fthings really have come out over the past few years...... your offense needs to be pro based, the old style os gone and the defenses eat up an unimaginative offense. Speed wins on defense. Size does notmatter any more. Take away the left and right side form the offense and you leave them to run up the middle or throw...... give a defensive coordinator those options and he will zero in on you for a game of three and outs......

at the collage level, one stupid mistake can cost you the national title, ask Texas.......so every game id do or die.... my top five would still consist of texas, alabama. OU, FL, USC and Utah inno particular order. But God youhave go tto love the SEC style of play.... and does anyoen reall ythink USC ever loses talent? Their third dtring is better than most top 10 starters.... it's called re-loading and a great talent base to draw from...... and how long will Michican alumni wait? all great things to ponder as we move into baseball.....

Tebow is coming back.....it is official....

Also, the did not have a single senior on defense so Florida will have the exact same defence again next year.....go ahead and give them the SEC Championship now!

Damn, I wish Texas and Florida would play in the regular season......
