A healthy discussion/debate between members is encouraged. However, flames, fights, abusive language, will no longer be tolerated.Violators will be banned. Additionally, users found to be stirring up trouble amongst other members will be banned as well.
Who's going to enforce it? The ignore function does work great but some people don't have skin thick enough to hang around. It's too bad, seeing threads going way off topic, contributing members leaving, etc.

Apart from being married to a thai for 12 years the only angle for me to input on the forum is during or after trips. Which I try to do but have often held back for fear of getting flamed I even wrote whole pieces of my antics and just sent to mates because of that.
The only members that can give continous updates and input are the expats but they are probably over the interested stage and more likely have become sinical and bored.
I joined in the heighday when the infamous Pinga was around, I learned a lot and the round tables were fun in those days.
Thailand changes people though some expats even become obnoxious. About 5 years ago standing by big dogs at 2 am watching the ouflux from nana plaza so im standing there with my brother in law waiting for my st to catch up. A young white guy start talking to me parading around like a peacock ' I live here ' he said, but it was the way he said it.Condecending like he had found the holy grail and I was just a wanker on holiday.
Reading stickman and looking at the amount of jumpers it seems many struggle to survive in los. Live on a teachers wage and only thrill is trying to kill yourself on dodgy drugs. Then what happens when your 60 or 70 or get ill without a pension from the west the thai wil cough you out like a maggot. No I like thailand but a few weeks and im glad to be back in the west. We have hookers here too long time also if you look on internet, and proper drugs that wont kill like marijuana with no hassle from the fuzz.
Bobs posts were ' different ' and the ones about ass hairs and visits to obscure places like texas massage in china town were amusing. Part of me is actually jealous as I can only play on the tiny strip on suk and pattaya it will take a divorce to give me the freedom to travel around which I intend to do one day.
As for putting people on ignore never have and never will I like the forum like life warts and all, maybe because deep down I dont give a f*** as in real life.
So come on girls more sex and less pussying around.
Fact is any member contributing on a current and new topic should be praised instead of ridiculed and even there are rules its hardly acceptable that certain individuals promote themselves to head moderator when they feel like it, unless the boss is ok ing it which I never heard. Anyway gentlemen we are not in kindegarten some are in los some are not but we are brought here due to vested interests.
Me I could not give a f*** and have never joined any other sites as im not competely thailand potty, 12 years married to one soon woke me up in that respect.
Although thailand has a fairly safe infrustructure many other countries in SE Asia are still on my to do list and I cannot wait.

I've been reading the forum since 2001 when I moved to Bangkok and joined in 2003. There have been times when I stopped reading and went away because of the childish fights etc. I would imagine you get this anywhere. I only actually visit this forum and am not a contriboutor or user of any other.
Nowadays I content myself with the odd visit and post on threads requesting Information.
I think for people seeking info on Bangkok and in particular its nightlife this is a pretty good place.
I can understand the OP's anger at the bitchy and unnecessary comment that started this thread,but leaving the Forum is not the way to react.
The individual who made the comment is obviously the sort of person who would thrive on such a reaction and definitely gain some pleasure from it.
Just ignore such people. More to be pitied than scorned.
Keep posting useful info for the guys that appreciate it and ignore the sad ones.

There's a simple solution. They will be filtered out. You can choose if you like to read their post but by default you won't see them.
