A member emailed me a bit ago to see if everything is OK. First I’d like to say why I haven’t been on this site in such a long time. I have been only with my Lao Girl for well over a year now, and really don’t miss the P4P one bit, so the main purpose for going to this board is no longer there for me. We got married last year in November.
So how are things going you ask? Pretty good, LG now has her Green Card, SS# and is now working on getting her learners permit. She does get homesick for her family sometimes, but loves living in America. My family has come to love her, and she really loves them. At first I had LG enrolled in an ESL program at a local university but that didn’t work out since the cause was to academically oriented for her. She now has a job at a local Thai restaurant and does occasional Traditional dance shows. Everyone thinks LG is 10 years younger then her 27 here, and nobody believes her when she tells them that she was nothing special back is Laos, and she hasn’t gotten a big head yet! The winter was tough, but once she learned to ski she started to love the snow. She has made a bunch of friends and her English has continued to improve. She thinks the last year has been the best year of her life.

But I am happy to see things working out. The first year Stateside can be a deal breaker for all the wrong reasons. Best of luck, I sincerely hope you remain happy together.
