In case anyone here was planning on pointing it out...I know, I watched it...my team got spanked....Alabama totally dominated...good on them...
It does look like UGA will have to run the table for a shot at the national title...as is the case with many others...
but since we have Florida and LSU head to head and LSU or Alabama possibly twice.....doesnt look good for my team...
as mrs atl says, "Tilac it fun to watch but mai pen lai, you lub me or Bulldogs more?" 555!!!
she meant it in a sweet way but...well you guys know

What a mix up tonight....
Texas looked awesome beating up on #1 Oklahoma...and Florida put a Grade A SEC ass whoopin' on LSU, and Missouri lost..
If I had to guess 'Bama will be #1 on Monday with Texas #2...too bad EPC doesnt chime in anymore because his team looked fantastic...
My team Georgia whipped an inferior Tennessee team.....why does my coach not like to run up the score perplexes mrs atl, "why does "Rik" not want to kill people...I want him to eat they heart and make other team afraid of dogs?" (so much for her Buddhist attitude that will not kill a cockroach in our house LOL!)
I smiled and said, "I agree, but maybe he plays to the level of the opponent."
This will be a good second half of the season..but Texas and Colt looked very strong..

I'm chiming in again.
We are some 10 weeks into the season and the Big 12 looks pretty impressive. At least it can make a strong argument that they are the strongest league in the US.
Let's just look at current standings:
BCS Rankings
1. Alabama (10-0)
2. TEXAS TECH (10-0)
3. TEXAS (9-1)
4. Florida (8-1)
5. OKLAHOMA (9-1)
All other ranking services have the same top five, with the three capitilized ones all from the Southern Division of the Big 12.
In addition the Big 12 also has Missouri at number 12 and Oklahoma State at number 13, after being beaten soundly by Texas and Texas Tech. The collective records of the six teams in the Southern Division against non-conference opponents is 20-4.
Just my two cents worth.

The diplomatic reason
Look under the 'last 25 ALT' link. I believe the 'alternative' was set up to segregate certain threads that had little to do with P4P & which also might have a large number of posts. This sometimes lead to the problem of the 'last 25' being filled up with non-P4P posts - not really core business. So the moderator moves these type of threads to the ALT as he sees fit
The real reason
Duck was pissing everybody off with his 20 iPhone posts a day, so to save us all from having all that crap crowding out the genuine P4P posts in 'last 25', his iPhone thread was thrown in the 'last 25 ALT'
Can you believe he was even more unpoplular back then!

Now we are talking business boys...
Texas Tech is amazing and I love their coach...he seems like a great guy...
I will guess that Florida beats Alabama in the SEC championship and faces Texas Tech (not 100% on that but pretty sure) and Florida wins the national championship again... Tebow is a machine...
Now, let me preface, being a dawg...it is difficult for me to say this (my team is maybe worthy of 5th to 8th overall if they win out) but I will give Tim Tebow and the Gators their props....they are just dominant and will win....place your bets..
some of you southerners might know of Lewis Grizzard who is a great writer and avid Dawg...he wrote along time ago that he believes any boy born into an SEC district should automatically go to that college...now that is unrealistic but has some valid ethnocentric value..
I will give a high five to (after battle) a fellow SEC guy if his team beats up on mine.....maybe after I wipe the tears from my eyes
But if the Dawgs cant pull it out (and are clearly out of it) I will always pull for my Division (kind of like voting party lines LOL)...with that said Texas Tech is awesome to watch and I hope to see them in the BSC Championship...I love the underdog...but the Gators will beat anyone....

I do like your idea (compliments of Lewis Grizzard) that would require players to play closer to home. Having nothing else to do, I ran a little survey and found some interesting information.
The following major colleges have recruited Texas High School football players in the numbers shown:
1. University of Texas - 107
2. Texas Tech - 81
3. Texas Christian University - 84
4. Oklahoma University Sooners - 41
5. Oklahoma State University - 56
6. University of Missouri - 29
7. University of Arkansas - 25
8. Kansas University - 28
Wouldn't it be nice if all these 451 major college football players were required to play in Texas?

you are correct about Texas churning out the ball players and Stafford (UGA's cannon armed QB) is a Texas boy...
Unfortunatly, he will probably forgo his senior season and enter the NFL draft...even though he owes us one more year after that horrible performance against Florida...and the fact he wouldnt even start for at least 2 years in the NFL.....

Well you both can have your wish because it looks like a SEC/Big 12 BCS championship so far. I think Florida will beat Alabama to take one of the spots and I would have to say Texas Tech for now. With that being said, there is still a chance for USC to sneak in if there are some upsets such as Florida getting beat by Fla. St or SC and TT losing to Oklahoma or Missouri in the Big 12 final.

I am concerned, however, that OU will beat Texas Tech, which would throw the southern division into a real mess.
This would leave all three teams (OU, TT and UT) with only one loss, assuming they win out otherwise. This would mean UT beat OU, TT beat UT and OU beat TT. Got all that?
I don't know who would then play in the championship game. Anybody know?
