Hey Guys,
Why are we all being so protective about this "ConMan" ?
Should we not be more protective about all the other brothers on this Forum who may fall prey to this "ConMan"?
SO - Like Kryptonite suggested some posts back - why doesn't someone in the know ( preferably Caronte ) post the "ConMan"'s name here on the Forum and achieve the double satisfaction of humiliating him as well as protecting all the other unsuspecting brothers.
OR - are we afraid of him ? In that case what was all the bravado about "kicking his ass".
AND - we need not hide behind any Forum rules. I don't think that the privacy rules prevent any member from warning the other members about a "ConMan" in their midst - BUT be sure that the allegation is true and verifiable.
ALSO - there is no need to fear a defamation lawsuit - after all the real name will not be posted. Only the Forum name which will not stand up in a court of law.
SO - Caronte - Go for it. Name the scum and be done with it.
If you are not willing to name him - then spare us your personal rantings.

I'm not sure about this...I recall BK telling me once that we're not supposed to post even the forum name of these persons, especially about matters like these.
Best to spread the word by email, PM, calling, whatever.

In retrospect - I agree with BK ( and you ).
On a Forum of this type we should NOT mention any Forum names in derogoratory posts - however true the allegations may be.
This is unfortunate - BUT necessary.
SO - I would then recommend all members to PM Caronte and others in the know and get the name for themselves thereby being forewarned.
AND I hope that Caronte and the others in the know will oblige.

MrA, it is out of respect for the boss' request that no names be named on here, rather than Caronte mentioning. Believe me, many guys would name the names in an instant if it was not for this reason. Also, one of the guys does not post anymore, at least under the oldname and may be of little use.
What would be of use is the person who mentioned, I think CB or y____, knowing the company details and the particular advertisements that got him some of his business, being all named publicly. that would then help people avoid being ripped of for a little while at least.
But unfrortunatley, many of these crooks continue and just come back under different names and addresses and pull in new people.

The reasons why I did not post the real names or the nicks?
1st I wanted to send a strong signal to the guys, an "invite" to quit playing around and act as reasonable people, even after the scam...I gave him (them) the opportunity and the time (3 weeks) to sort out the things and come out clean...all I had was denial and bla bla bla......then, as many other members had the same experience, the situation went to the sky...say I just started the fire but there were already many other ppl waiting to add their own gas....
2nd As I mentioned in the beginning of the post, I decided to reveal the story in its headlines in BTF because it has many links to BTF.....still I wanted respect the rules of BTF...call it respect to the other respectable members, call it respect to BK.....
3rd As already said, the aim of the thread was to send a signal to the people directly involved and in a secondary way, give a warning to the other members.
What it saddens me is that without bullsh_t and lies, everything could have been much easier...."ok Caronte, sorry we cannot do it, it's out of our reach"...or "Sorry Caronte, we tried but it didn't work....these are the evidences, this is the money left...this said in few days after the assignment of the job"......I would have accepted a loss of 20k if goodfaith and goodwill were there.......but everytime I was able to contact the guy, it was all "we are almost there, we did this, that, the thing is that they are now finalizing....."...at the end of 2 weeks, the guy, once confirmed that nothing had been done, he even offer to return the 20k and cover all the additional damages created by the lost of time.....3 weeks are already gone and no sign of a single baht yet....
Only one thing was said well by one of the guy....take the lesson and move on......sure, I took the lesson and I'll survive and move on.....at least, I'll be sure that the guys drinking with me think I'm a little dumb but they won't watch their wallets or ask me to pay my share once the drinks have been just served.....

Krypto called it right. Chalk it up to experience. Share the names with members. If 20K is the biggest amount you have been ripped off for in Thailand, feel lucky.
There are many people who have been taken for more.
It seems you are just as upset with yourself for being scammed as you are at the scammers.
There are many farangs living in this country who make their living off unsuspecting fellow farangs. This should be a lesson to be wary. At all times.
Yeah, revenge sounds so wonderful. Until you get caught, or you realize you have perhaps ruined, or even ended, someone's life over the gigantic sum of 20K. And you get to live with that for the rest of your life. Yeah, revenge is sweet.
A lesson learned. Who says education is free?

generally I would agree with you and Krypto, but it has to come the day and the guy that end this vicious chain.....or should we all just "take the lesson" and allow this kind of guys going on to the next victim? I am talking now on a general level......do you remember the beginning of WWII? Hitler invades Austria...some complains, but not much action, Hilter invades other Countries, small cakes, not big ones....ok, big complains but still no serious action taken by the main powers....until Hitler gets soo far cuz nobody did stop him when it was the time and kaboom, here we go with WWII.....milions of death and all the other consequences the history knows......
Hitler is a extreme example but it share the very same ground of our cases....the attitude of "A lesson learned. Who says education is free?"
