Wow! What a weekend. Oklahoma looked really tough. But they're still ranked behind Texas. They can play in the BCS title game if they get a bump up by beating OK St next weekend and beating Missouri, or hope that Missouri beats TX in the Big 12 title game.

EPC-I'm not a Gator fan, but I suspect that Florida gave up 19 during "scrub time" which probably began really early during the game with the Citadel. I'm guessing that's the reason why they also "only" scored 70 (the Gators only scored 7 in the 4th quarter).

I love the logjam at the top. I hope for it every year because then maybe the college presidents will opt for a playoff. Probably not, though. Those bastards.

Yeah, I know, Bull. I thought the same thing about the 19 points but at least it was an argument of sorts.

Still.....neither Ala, Fla or OU have faced the strength of schedule that UT has faced.

I do believe, as does Horntoad, that OU will be ranked above Texas in the BCS if they win out. They still have to play Ok. State/Missouri and Texas only faces Tex A&M.

It's getting more interestinger and more interestinger.

So, Florida rolled over "Bama....

Mizz at OU are next to see who will fight for the championship...

If its OU or Texas....I have Florida and Tim Tebow rolling...Tebow is the definition of a "winner" in my book....(the guy is a stud!)

The sad thing, for a Dawg fan like me is, he will stay his senior year and be dominant with his defence (not 1 senior on the whole starting D now) all next year as well....

And Thus, Florida may very well roll again next year...and if it sounds like I am counting OU or Texas out of the National Title it is because I am!

Florida, and the SEC will win again this year!

atl, my friend - I believe, like you do, that Tebow will be back next year. He doesn't seem to be a guy who is swayed enough by the bright lights and big money of the NFL to leave early. He's a tough, tough kid who'll probably win his 3rd Heisman in 2009.

But, count out OU or UT? The Sooners are rolling against Mizzou (it's almost halftime as I write), and they seem unstoppable. Good luck to Florida. It must be tough for a southerner to admit that another conference might be better than your beloved SEC.

I can't wait for the title game.

Tebow doesn't fit the protype NFL quarterback mold. The NFL isn't looking for running QB's. I am not even sure he would go in the first round, at least not as a QB. That would have a lot to do with whether he leaves college for the NFL.

I'll take OU over Florida straight up in the championship game.

I'm with you, Bull. Florida hasn't seen the likes of the offenses played in the Big 12 and I do believe they will have a hard time stopping OU....or Texas....or Texas Tech....or even Oklahoma State.

It's the end of the first half and the score is OU-38/Mo-7.

You gotta remember that Missouri only lost to Texas, Oklahoma State and Kansas (last year's number 2 team), so they ain't exactly chopped liver.

I am no fan of OU since they recruit most of their better players from Texas, but I firmly believe there is no stronger conference than the Big 12 and, specifically, the Big 12 Southern Conference.

The bowl assignments will be interesting.

Edit in: Final score was OU 62-21.

They kept the first team offense in and ran up the score yet again, looking for those style points.

Mr Alan
Interesting and little known fact:

In the SEC a 3-way tie is decided by using the BCS standings to throw out the lowest ranked team, and then use the head-to-head game between the two remaining schools to decide who plays in the conference title game.

In that scenario, Texas would have played Missouri for the right to play in the national championship game.

OU v FL should be a good game....

Read that Florida will probably be favored by 7 over Oklahoma in the championship game. As much as I wanted Texas to go, Oklahoma is a good rep for the Big 12. Was also rooting for Alabama but Florida was too tough.

I think Florida will win but won't cover the seven point spread. Reason I'm picking Florida is because they have the offense to keep up with Oklahoma but their defense is better but it should be a great game nonetheless.

Well boys,

http://collegefootball.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=885360

we got 2 SEC teams and 2 Big 12 Teams looking at BSC bowls...Texas might stomp Ohio (sorry IBF but we both had lackluster years)

It is a shame that Texas Tech didnt get a nod...they deserved it...

So we will see what conference comes out Kings......in a month..
