I just booked 11 March flight from Mia<>Bkk via Delta (I think Northwest old routes (outgoing via Detroit)
$772 RT 
These fares did not show at Delta.com, only at sidestep (but redirected to Delta to purchase
There was, via JFK, a $770 flight remaining

Not the best return route, but savings at $100 per hour!
Many other flights from Miami at $1075 or so.

I'm just about to book for June
Sydney (Australia) to Bangkok
$995 Thai Air ways and Australia is only just over 9hrs away
And our Dollar is close to the US some days just over.
How can they do at that price?

I Paid 740 euro from amsterdam to BKK in august with china airlines and I booked it in september last year.
This is school holiday time and this is a great price,had to pay cash and nobody else here with kids and thai missus could find the same rate at this time.
Mate of mine is there now he paid almost 800 euro
and it low season ( price structure ) so go figure.
Anyway I pay for 3 so its 2100 euro.Pays to shop around 2 yrs ago paid 3000 euro and 4 yrs ago 3000 euro for the same flight. Thats 900 euro for R nR

The Wife has payed today
And there's be no way I fly no frills airlines and travel down to Melbourne
As it is I have to drive 4 hrs to Sydney get up at 4am than fly for nine and a half hrs than drive another 5 hrs to Surin

Well as you know I pay up to $1800 in peak season and paid $1400 a month back- I wouldnt either-
But I put the info there for budget conscious

These airfares from Australia are blatant profiterring over the peak season, they are half this over the low period. The only airlines that will get you to Bangkok direct is Thai and Jetstar. Mongers on a tight time frame don't need the hassle of stop overs at Singapore or KL
With Jetstar been owned by Qantas I'm not keen of an engine failure over the Pacific so its Thai for me and their schedules are human friendly and not red-eye express flights
I see Royal Brunei have finally woken up and are starting a service from Melbourne this year via Brunei. Air Asia X (the porn section of Air Asia) are also starting operations from the Great Southern Land but flights are to KL. No problem considering the savings one makes
