Does anyone know if Prozac inhibits sex drive. If yes, is there anything to take to get the drive back?

Prozac is a very strong drug and its a very USA drug. The sex problems should not come from the drug beucase it makes you happy and with no problems. The problem is if you stop with prozac. Sure some people can react to diffrent pills. But I guess in general no it does not make u have less sex I think more. Beucase you are a more relaxed and happy person. You btw that if you take the drug in to Thailand please remeber to take note from the doc that gave it to you so that the customs do not stop you and give you a 1 degree.

Hmmm.
I just did a google search and discovered that Prozac is an anti-depressant drug from the good old US of A. Each pill contains fluoxetine hydrochloride equivalent to 10 mg, by the way.
Well, I say that the best cure for depression is a trip to LOS! So throw those pills away and have some fun!
Make sure you stock up for when you return home because then you'll discover what depression is REALLY all about.

A reduced sex drive is a very well known side effect of taking Prozac. Worst of all it is not something that you become tolerant to - namely your sex drive is likely to be lower one year after taking Prozac than 6 months after taking Prozac.
One of my best friends in the UK took Prozac and, although his mood improved, his libido was reduced to zero (although to be fair, one look at his GF would be enough to reduce my libido to zero). Supposedly taking the usual stimulants - viagra etc. - has no effect. Your only option is to switch anti-depressants.

Yes I know what I am talking about. But like I said. There is many things that can effect you drive to go and get a BJ. I know for sure that problems and things like that, that makes you take the drug in the first place will stop any sex drive. And if you take a drug that will take away thoose problems it can have a good effect. Now the drug itself is very strong and if your hormone level is low YES it can stop the feeling for having sex. I would suggest another line of drugs but the same affect there is many out there and the finish line is do not take it. I will change your mind after all and that is not good.

Bad advice, even if it were given jokingly - as your posts show no knowledge of the illness of depression.
In most cases it is caused by chemical imbalances in the brain, which anti-depressant drugs, i.e. prozac, counteract.
'Throwing away' the pills would plunge an otherwise stable medicated person back into depression, which NO amount of 'fun' could ever overcome.

Jeez, CiaoCiao - you sound just like my ex-wife. Nothing I ever did or said was good with her. I bet you're a lousy cook, too.
For you information, I actually suffer from depression (no joke, fair dinkum) and I have been "advised" to take anti-depressants several times, always refusing because I abhor drug-taking of any kind (exception: alcohol - and yes, I know that alcohol is a depressant but I only drink in moderation).
Since you are obviously an expert on the taking of anti-depressants (well it must be true, yes?) and you know all about the effects of suddenly ceasing taking them I will bow to your great wisdom, O Lord.
What happened to the FUN in this forum? Seems like too many guys are a right-royal pain in the sphincter and take themselves and life too seriously. By trying to make light of so-called "serious" situations I seem to put too many noses out of joint (please excuse me all Jews). Would any other brothers care to comment?

Dear CiaoCiao I eat the dam pill ok I know what it does I know how it feels and I DONT like them. Yes you are right about the brain thing but I am sorry to say in USA the use the pills waaaaay to often for people that should not take or have no need to take like me. For me its better to move to Thailand and stop working office ours. And I did and now I feel much better.
For people with problems like ex extacy junky and stuff prozac maybe the only way out but there is MUCH better and softer drugs then Mr Prozac trust me ok.

2) Actually my Chicken Cacciatore, Cajun Gumbo, and yes, Tom Yam Gung are probably as good as you'll get at any restaurant,
3) Despite our other disagreements, I hope the following is taken in the good spirit in which it is offered: If you are clinically diagnosed with 'depression' (not just feeling blue), then take the advice of others and get treated for it, whether you abhor medical drugs or not. I don't like drugs of any sort either, but I've seen the difference anti-depressants can make in the lives of good friends. It is a common misconception of depression that you can get rid of it by 'snapping out of it', by 'thinking positive' and by 'getting yourself into a good mood'. Well you can't, not the slightest bit more than you can cure a heart condition or cancer by 'snapping out of it'. Some causes of depression are circumstantial, and the best cure for that type are to change the circumstances, but most causes are chemical deficiencies, and the only cure for that is to restore the chemical balances with drugs,
4) Your # 3 comment above is itself a small example of comments that have prompted my past replies. But more particularly your other 'fun' comments, which are outright discriminitory of other nationalities, IMHO are destructive to the quality of an international forum of brotherhood. Judging by occasional other posts, no doubt some few others also think that negative racial, political, nationalistic, and religious comments about others are 'fun'. I hope that you can respect that many don't, and that some good brothers have already said so - and voted to leave the Forum.
