Things seem to have gotten worse in BKK over the last couple of years. Just have a few pills left and flying to BKK after tomorrow. No goos... which drugstores are selling them at the moment??

Bought some 1mg at the big Pharmacy nr Bullys at the bottom of Soi 4,turn left from soi4 onto Suk past the petrol station and its the second pharmacy on the left. 250baht for 10.
This was two weeks ago

I just use them for sleeping on long haul flights or if I have difficulty sleeping for any other reason.
They are actually an anxiety treatment so I suppose they calm you down.
They don't seem to alter my mood at all but I expect I don't notice that as I am asleep a half hour after dropping one.

Yes, they are antianxiolitic, and quite helpful as sleeping pills.Don't really make you happy, more relaxed I guess and at least I can sleep kindda when I want... Used to buy them 6bhts a 1mg tablet in BKK... called the doctor but we need to drop by his office tomorrow and get the prescription...

Anti-anxiety. They work directly on the para-sympathetic nervous system, relaxing you (or reducing symptoms of anxiety) without inducing mood alterations.
They also have an addictive component, which is why they should not be taken regularly, and at volition, but only when needed, based on symptoms.

I always have to pay 20baht a piece for them but they are actually xanax brand. I am bringing my own prescription this time so that I do not have to worry with chasing them down. They are great for getting over jet lag when you are making a 12 hour time jump like I am.

I sometimes have a hard time falling asleep. But when ever I go to a pharmacy and ask for sleeping pills they give me that beat-it-you-druggie! look and tell me to get lost.
So, after reading this thread I went to the place [above] but he was ot of Zanax at the time and offered me a teeny yellow pill instead Tryptanol. They work great! I get a nice solid sleep and wake up alert the next day.
A few weeks later, I went back and got some Xanax to try as suggested here. I hate Xanax for sleeping! I wake up muddle-headed and groggy. Even after a pot of strong coffee I feel the after affects of the Xanax.
So, if anyone has read this far, try asking the guy for the teeny little yellow pills instead.

Oh goodness, you just go on thinking that.
The short answer - most likely WORST use of Xanax, if you're going to self-medicate. Wanna get over jetlag - plan!
