there is a death penalty for carrying narcotics....
so... even if u are from europe and off to thailand and somehow transit in Singapore, u can get caught and be hanged !

I assume because all the bros know that if you are caught with drugs or a certain quantity there is the death penalty if you cannot pay yourself out, depending on the country. This is everybody is saying one has to watch out while smoking weed in SEA. The laws are hard, they are not to be messed with and most prisons are shitholes.
Some years back in the Phils I knew a guy who was caught and sentenced to death. He was a wellknown dealer and the police planted a very large amount drugs in his house. In the end he could escape from prison and his country's government sponsored about USD 1 million for economic aid. He was lucky! If my information is up to date, his partner - from another country - is still in prison.

fanta, re drug club testing, from what i understand it happens mainly at rave clubs, and particularly at Ministry of Sound... I also heard of one at an all Thai rave club, that allows you to fish (yes the sport) inside the club from a tank while you party.... Anyhow, 5-0 comes in, sequesters everyone, administeres piss tests and if you have drugs in your system you go to jail... Now from what I've experienced in LOS you can pay your way out for pretty cheap in lieu of going to jail, but with a largescale operation like a club bust, not only would it get expensive as you'd have to pay them all off, but it probably wouldnt even be accepted in such an operation....
as for smoking weed... if you acquire some, and smoke it, you should be OK, the peeps on this board freaking out scaring you are a little too right-wing... If you have a kilo of meth of heroine on you, you're up Shit's Creek w/o a paddle.... If you get caught with a J on you and you have 1-10,000baht on you, from what I understand you will be OK....
