in a word,yes.
i was in a relationship with a sweet girl and we never used one at all.

i found that the main reason the girls wanted to use a condom was to prevent pregnancy,not to avoid catching anything.

Yes it is a strange question - I once sat next to a guy on a plane who was a smart fella about math. He was just finishing the analysis on a whole bunch of data and his conclusions were that HIV is highly contagious in the first couple of months after seroconversion and then tails off. I didn't see the study, let alone the data, but it always crosses my mind. You would normally feel marginally safer with a girl new to the biz and steer clear of the scary freelancers but maybe if you are going to cowboy you should pic the ones that look like they have been infected for a long time...
I was kidding about the last part but what the guy said to me is a true story and I found him a persuasive interlocutor.
And keep in mind that ALL and that means ALL of the bargirls who eventually marry and go to another country all have to get the test before they get the visa. Some of the women have been f_cked thousands of times and not all of them are so persnickety about insisting on coverage. hmmm
