Come out of the hotel turn left cross sukhumvit (at police box on corner of Soi4) and turn left again cross soi 3 and head towards soi 1 about fifty metre before Soi 1 there is a Pizza Hut and KFC and next to that on the corner is a small electronics shop I cant remember the name but you can't miss it (has a red sign). In There you can buy all makes of card.

Best place to buy a Thai SIM card is the IT mall "Pantip Plaza" for 200 THB including 50 THB credit.
A Sukhumvit merchant from Ambassador plaza asked me 600 THB for a SIM card with 50 THB credit.
In addition, he was ready to lie by saying that only One2Call supports cheap international call (with predial 009) to make a sell.

Another place besides Pantip is Fortune Town. It is a big mall with plenty of Mobile Phone/Computer stuff dealers. Happy Time card is 199TB.
Easy to get to with the subway from Asoke station, which is right next to Soi Cowboy. Two stops to the north is Fortune Town. Exit from the subway is right in front of the place.
If you are staying near Asoke Station it is a bit easier then going to Pantip. Pantip can be a pain in the ass to get there during bad traffic, since it is north of the sky train route.
However, the easiest way I have found to get to Pantip is to take the skytrain one stop north of the main station at Silom, and from there it is an easy motorbike taxi shot to Pantip.
MBK you can get the cards also, or some small phone shops around.

There must be a thousand different phone card suppliers to choose from. Are the charges all the same, (probably not) ? Also which ones are most reliable & cheapest for calling overseas as well as upcountry.
Or as I suspect does it not matter a sack of beans as we will be paying in the worlds greatest currency!
