hi guys, am staying at the Sheraton Grande next month, which is the closest (but decent) oil massage place from this hotel. I have seen some of the maps and locations but not sure on whether the distance is walkable or whether I need to get a taxi (if I do I guess should I ask for the street name, or the name of the massage parlor?)

Well walk to the BTS and go one stop down to Prom Phong. There are about 13 OM's within a 5 minute walk from there; Baron's, Angels, Ana's, Koko, about 4-5 on Soi 33 (Teen, Patou, 33 Center, Akane), another 3-4 around Soi 31 (Oranges, Euro Inn. Orchid).

It is a lot further than a 5 minute walk from Phom Phrong BTS to Euro Inn or Orchid. More like 15-20 minutes. I have walked it about 10 times round trip.

Sorry about that bobtheknight.
I forgot Mr Alan has a new stopwatch.
So make that 9 OM's within 5 minutes.
Then 3 more within 15 minutes.
BTW I play tennis with a fellow on Soi 29 and I can walk that in 10 minutes.
Need to lose some weight Alan ??

thanks, On the map each soi doesnt look too far apart but no idea on walking distance. I'm a lazy git, so looks like taxi to me.
so what do I tell the taxi driver, just "soi 2" or "soi..."??
I've only been to LOS a few times.

I've only been to LOS a few times.
If you are going to the places on the odd-soi side of Sukhumvit and are too lazy to walk from the hotel or Phrom Pong BTS, then cross Sukhumvit and get a taxi (35 baht) or moto (probably 20 baht) and tell them "Soi three-one" (soi som-sip-et) or "Soi three-three" (soi som-sip-som"). For the places on the even-soi side of Sukhumvit, do not take a taxi, take BTS one stop to Phrom Pong and you are within a minute or two.

for really swift just wander up soi 19, opposite sheraton and by Robinsons, on the right. there is Lisas and Happy massage and one other I think. decent places, goodish extras. takes u 2 minutes to get there. there are also quite a few places as u wander down suhkumvit towards nana....bot sides of the road and in the sois 2....especially soi 11, soi 7, soi 11.1, soi 8

Greeting, bobtheknight,
You should have a fine stay at the Sheraton Grande. I was there last month and it was as lovely as ever.
You said you were a "lazy git" and I can relate to that. One afternoon at the Sheraton, I arrranged for a masseuse from Teen Massage (quite near) to come to my room (I am certain I am a bit older than most of the gentlemen in the forum, so I think the occasional room service is allowed). It was a great massage that evolved into hj, bbbj, fs, and a shower. I laughed like a little boy when she soaped me down.
The Sheraton has a good guest policy. My guests have always been confirmed by the front desk and then escorted to my room. I will be going back to the Sheraton (and Westin) in September and am already looking forward to more sweet times.

Hello bobthenight! Well the nearest Soapie is Darlings. If you are a first timer, that's a good start for soapie (I know, the OP asked for oil). I say this because whatever you do, don't ask a taxi driver the name of the massage parlor, because he will tell you it's closed and take you to his recommendation which will charge you a large commision.
For oil, take the BTS Sky Train. The walkway is right AT the hotel (station is Asok). From Asok for one station, a quick zip in air-conditioning, get off at Phrom Pong, which connects to the Emporium shopping centre. As everyone here has stated, all are within walking distance. The only issue with walking that will get you is the heat or a drenching rain. Otherwise, none are a walking issue. I walk miles in Bangkok, so getting to the oil at Phrom Pong is easy.
In fact, from The Sheraton, you can walk to Washington Square and there are a few oils inside there too. Sheraton Grande is a great hotel and girl friendly. Wish their room rates were cut by 50%, though.
