I think you'll find a lot of girls in Traditional Thai massage who are not open to 'suggestions' and the reluctance is based of the very reason why they have opted to work in these non-P4P places. They don't want it and they are not interested in it. Otherwise they would be working in far more lucratice establishments where they could earn a lot more money.
However, as the world turns on diversity and human nature, of course, occasionally you will run up against a girl working in a Tradaitional Thai massage parlour who may be open to giving you P4P services to some limited degree on site ( discretely) or even some who would entertain the idea of meeting you after work or on their day off, if they have one.
But generally, I think you have to respect the choices that these girls have made and not initiate anything yourself but see how things go during the massage session.
Certainly attempting to push your 'suggestion' is not the way to go. And one must differentiate between these establishments and set one's mind controls and behaviour accordingly.
It makes me cringe to see falang behave in the same way in a so-called 'classy' hotel or restaurant as they do in so-called' lower establishments.
To my mind, I think wherever you are, if you show respect and consideration to those around you and to the people serving you, it goes a long, long way,and smoothes the path to any other eventuality that might come to mind if you think an indication is being given by one that possibilities for later on, elsewhere, could be on offer.

You must be joking.
After the New Zealand / South Africa match, I went yesterday afternoon to Tony's Thai Massage parlour as recommended above, for a straight Thai massage.
I found it way down soi 23 on the right hand side. Not worth catching a taxi or even a moto-cy for that short distance, unless you're legless.
I nearly passed the shop because of the plants outside.
Great place. Very clean. Very friendly. Incense burning, scents and fragrances. gentle, low volume of Thai music. Ideal for what I wanted. Skilled and trained masseuse.
But can you believe, 100 baht for one full hour of Traditional Thai massage ?
Can't imagine what it must be like for the ladies to work for 50 baht an hour. ( The other 50 baht goes to the shop of course.)
I felt compelled to tip generously.
There is no need whatsoever to raise the arguments for and against tipping. We've all heard them before and all written up fully elsewhere.
I do tip.
It's a personal choice.
I hope to continue to do so.

I got a great massage. No extras offered or asked for. There are at least 3 floors. Bottom (entrance) is for foot massage. 2nd floor for TTM, 3rd floor for oil.
As other posters mentioned, 1 hr TTM for 100bt. 1 hr foot massage for 100bt. Heated oil massage 300bt for 1 hr. There are other services as well, such has spa. (In return for the great price, there is no air con (just fans), and almost no light.)
Don't be put off by Joe Wood's 600 meters walk. It is not anywhere near 600 meters. If it is 100m I would be quite surprised.
From Soi Cowboy cross to the other side of the street. Walk down the soi like you are going to Glow. At the street you would turn to go to Glow just keep going straight ahead. You will see the Waffle House. Right past that is Tony's. 100m maximum from Soi Cowboy.
Joe Wood - thanks so much for mentioning this place. A great value. Where else can you find these prices? And, as I said, the massage was excellent. Tip well, as these girls can't be making much. Didn't ask about specials, so have no information about this.

It's a good price. Especially on Suk. A couple weeks ago I was staring at this place wondering about it, this Tony's.
Malaysia hotel, on NgamDupli (for those intrepid enough to even consider such a rancid neighborhood) used to charge that. But most of those girls were on the game as they'd oft get phoned up to the rooms. I used to have one I did in the curtains years ago when I lived sort of near there. I would spend 4 hrs hanging out there with her at a time... good prices...

Too many red-eye flights and arctic air conditioning had buggered the Shooter's corporeal karma. So off to Tony's for a hot-oil massage to sort it out

The masseuse solved the problem by rubbing in normal oil to the affected area. The Shooter was amazed to find that despite the earlier trauma and 24 hours of constant and copious liquid emissions, there was no problem whatsoever in achieving erection and ejection.
Not quite what the Shooter expected. What an odd place this is. The masseuse almost fainted when he greased her hand with 500 baht. Clearly the clientle of this establishment are not noted for their largesse.
The Shooter hobbled a hundred meters back to the Ship Inn on the corner of Soi Cowboy. Several pints of Guinness and a steak dinner were need to regain his equanimity. While watching the antics of the "rope-in" girls at Shark. There can't be many more pleasant non-sexual ways to spend an hour. Beats the coffee shop at Asda anyways.
