These salon/barber shops, is it possible to get a really nice wet shave with cut throat razor?

Yes, but of course technique varies all over the map and I have been nicked a few times during my years of research. Most shops have someone who will shave you if requested, but very few have anyone with real skill.
At Hair Design, ask for Dao... she gives a thorough shave using traditional blade, and follows up with an excellent face massage. Her barber skills are much above average, and she's a sweet lady too....
Not sure that "cut throat razor" is really the terminology you want to employ though....

I don't know what the proper terminology is for the razor, but thanks for the info anyway.
I have made a note in my little red book to pop in and see Dao, sounds a nice way to spend half an hour before popping into beer garden.

That's a Straight Razor, mate.
You might also try my Recon from Cold Steel knives. It's sharp enough.

Correct Sanook... the true straight razor is a rare item on this planet now, being difficult to sharpen and not as sanitary. The more modern contrivance does just as good a job and is far more convenient. It's a "safety razor" but without the safety.... so a closer shave can be achieved.
If your beard is heavy Dao will change the blade 2-3 times during the shave.

Also if I remember right you are often in the Bangna Area, have you tried the new Oily MP's opened up on Srinakarin near Lotus as you head towards Samutprakarn ? Theres 2 new fishbowl places, 2hr oil is 450Baht, FS extra 1,000, HJ 500, BJ 800. worth a visit
