BK,...... I know it's true that many massage girls get hooked up with guys, but that was what Cherry told me... whether it was to garner sympathy or interest from me, I don't know. It worked. Hell, it's a standing truism among my friends that if there is a beautiful girl working in a massage parlor she's not going to last long before someone takes her away permanently. It does provoke an interesting question though. How do the girls, especially the pretty ones, see their chances of getting a farang to take them out of the business? Do they see themselves as "bad girls" that no one wants?

Many gals in oilies make a pretty fair amount of money. Let's be conservative and say a decent looking one averages 2 sessions a day. That is 3k x 6 days a week x 4 weeks. So 72k a month. How many dudes out there are wiling to provide that level of support and take on a possible parasitic family as well?
Personally I have no problem paying a working girl for her services, but paying a woman to be my GF or wife? If I am going to date or have a relationship I expect the gal to bring something else to the table besides her snatch. Degrees, job, condo, car, etc. My current has an MBA.
Too many dudes throw their standards out the window when they come here. Would you date a girl in your home country with a 6th grade education? Probably not. Then why do it here? You are just asking for grief.
Don't get me wrong, I love oily gals. It it the only place I partake, but unless she was the owner, like Cherry was, I would have no interest in anything but a 90 min rental.

Couldn't agree more. Some years ago, when I lived in BKK (sigh), I had a soapy girl as my gik...I was her recreational sex when she got done with work, during which--despite the many reports on Bangkok Tonight how "I made her come three times," blahblah--she said just went through the motions for the [considerable] cash, etc... But when I first met her (at the old Nana Disco...once again, "sigh"...), she made it clear to me that she never expected me to give her a single satang, and I never did...
The point is, some of these girls could buy and sell us Westerners with what they pull in every month, certainly no reason to give them anything (beyond of course expected payment for services, if that's your relationship with them).

When did ever an MBA add anything to a girl's (or a guy's) personality? On the contrary, tons of studies and evidence have highlighted the charm, joie de vivre, etc of the original Thai rural personality with its very basic education. Of course deep studies in the humanities etc will elevate a person's outlook but yuppie style MBA etc rather detracts from it.

Having an MBA is one thing. Actually having a job that matches that MBA is a completely different story.
In my career before I moved here I had half my employees with college degrees, and half that only graduated high school, all doing the same jobs, for the same amount of money.
Very few graduates actually work in their career field.

Actually what is shows is the cojones to stick to something and finish it out. Being a bar girl is the easy way out.
Asia is very hung up on degrees. Less so in the US now.
And adding to the personality? Well for one we can actually have a real conversation about things other than momma, the bar, the rest of the family, etc.
