Not necessarily. If you look at it from a subjective POV, then yes, you are right but if you want to look at it objectively, then Guaranteed payment means the lady can relax, know she will get 1500 and can concentrate on giving you a goo time.
Hell, if she works hard enough she might even get a tip on top of that.

Nic,I agree that knowing she is going to be paid 1500 baht the lady is likely to relax,but I am not so sure that she will then give of her best in an effort to earn a tip.
She is just as likely,or more likely,to go through the motions and do the bare minimum to receive the guaranteed payment.
It really depends on the lady.Some will,as you say,do their best in an effort to receive a tip,but human nature being as it is,and Thai human nature in particular,my guess is that more girls will go through the motions.
However,my main objection to the up front payment system is that it denies me the opportunity of deciding whether to have more than a massage.
I always like to enjoy the massage,get to know the girl,and then decide whether to go further. And not knowing whether or not I will actually have "the special" somehow adds to the sense of anticipation,and makes" the special" more enjoyable if I do have it(as I usually do).

While that is certainly true, as commented on elsewhere, if a customer chooses ONLY a massage, then the girl has worked a couple of hours for maybe 100 baht or less. My understanding, most of the massage fee goes to the house. Too many of those and her income flow is severely restricted. I'd say any girl working here expects a customer has arrived for the extras, given there are any number of legit MP's in bkk.

I pass Euro Inn several times a week going home from my tennis club along "the green mile". Tonight at 6pm lights were on and it looked open to me. No girls outside but I do not think there ever were.
On Soi 23 down a ways are 3-4 massage places with the lassies outside showing uniforms and their physical offerings. Sangita, another next door, SeeDang and one more.
Great block to cruise if you are up for an extras massage.

Visited the 'new' Euro massage today and the place deserves a plug. It was one of my favorites in the old days and happy to report they operate under similar principles as before.
Firstly, the reception has moved to 6th floor, not 3 anymore. Just hop in the elevator. The book of ladies was very extensive, althogh heavily photoshopped and with extensive japanese descriptions. There were probably over 15 or so, but since it was only 11.45 only three available.
The menu has adopted the similar pricing methodology used in other massage joints around 24, it's become all inclusive. The starting 'promotional' rate for 60 mins all in was 2000 which is very reasonable...
In the room it's similar setup. They are proper hotel rooms, albeit a bit run down. Big bed and bath is great.
The girl I choose was cute, but no stunner and had absolutely humongous natural tits, probably one of the largest I have seen in Thailand ever, obviously the drawback was her tummy, but for a boob lover, you're in heaven 
No rush, no gimmicks, all in, recommended

Thanks for a useful report and directions Bkklouis. I also had some nice experiences at Euro in days of yore. But I was wondering about the quoted rate. 2000 baht for 60 minutes does not strike me as especially reasonable, particularly if it is a promotional rate. If that was for 90 minutes it would be competitive for a soapy. I do seem to recall that Euro used to have its own rather eccentric charging system, but I don't recall them as being expensive and 2000 baht for an hour seems a tad expensive to me. Are they aiming to be a high end shop? Any other thoughts on this?
