reminds me of my trip one weekday round nooon time.. selection very ltd and made do with best of lot.

I think several of the posters here are dead wrong writing this off to "lose some win some". This was not just one of those common misunderstandings between customer and provider, although that's the way the dispute started. The mamasan escalated the dispute ON BEHALF of the provider, and this should never happen if the management has any common sense or discretion... except in the case of physical abuse or some grave misbehavior.
Skip notes that "listening to first intuitions" is wise, which I happen to agree with (though I'm still unconvinced that it justifies a new thread). But more importantly we should all be on the lookout for mamasans or papasans who can't distinguish between the interests of an individual employee and the interests of the business. This is a formula for failure, but there are a number of new outlets that have opened recently that are run by former hookers who are now mamasans (and de facto managers, since the owners are Japanese, etc). These places need to guard against mamasans who are too "cozy" with the employees.
I personally have had excellent results at Oranges, and I have always found K. Aey to be very welcoming and professional.... but Skip's encounter argues for vigilence at this place. Certainly if more than one report of this sort emerges, the place should be boycotted.

Next time do not agree so easily to the girl's offer of extra service.

If the argument escalated and they lost their temper
someone would have called in the gangsters and they would have stabbed you to death outside the joint.
The Thai police maybe face so many of such cases, --- oh no, not another farang case. They would have just noted, put up a halfhearted 1 page report, closed the case. Don't expect them to spend millions$ on a nation wide hunt for the killers.

News report in your home town -- soandso (you) killed in brawl with prostitute at Thai brothel. 
Not so good, right?

We have two parties here: the Orange Massage Parlour (The Contractor) and MissX, the Sub Contractor.
Mr. Skip hired Orange Massage parlour to do a oil massage and paid them THB 800. Both parties fulfilled their obligation. Contractor case closed.
Then MissX, assigned to do the oil massage, fulfills her obligation by doing the massage (although not well). Mr. Skip doesn't take the opportunity to complain to Orange Massage. Subcontractor case closed.
Then we have a subcase: MissX offers at the beginnning of the massage a blowjob for the price of THB 1,000. Although Mr. Skip accepts, he has by law 7 days to think and cancel the offer. I am not sure if she told him expressly it was a covered blowjob.
When MissX is ready to fulfil the her offer and Mr. Skip sees the condom, he bails out.
As he bailed out BEFORE the blowjob and not in the middle, MissX has lost nothing. She didn't make an investment/expenses nor called her mother that 1,000 baht was coming her way.
So, I declare that Mr. Skip is not to blame for not paying the 1,000 baht. Neither had the massage parlour the right to interfere with the (sight) arrangement between Mr. Skip and MissX.
If MissX had already pulled out the condom out of the package, I would hereby sentence Mr. Skip to refund the price of the condom to the massage parlour.
Case closed.
