I was a regular too. The place has been gutted. Landowner is slowly kicking out most tenants in the parts of the Square they own. Would love to know where some of the girls have gone if you hear DF.

The landlords are not exactly kicking tenants out... they are just making the lease terms more onerous. I understand that Ned at Silver Dollar just extended his lease for 12 months, but on condition that he pay the whole year in advance.
The Texxan, Wild Country and Cat's Meow are all closed now... these establishments will be missed by those of us who appreciate authentic sleaze. Alas, there are fewer and fewer venues where it can be found...

Nah, I disagree...Soi Zero was pathetic, and depressing, haha, but sleazy? Unless there were some "special" bars I never happened to wander into?? But I doubt it. It wasn't even raucous, let alone sleazy. The only truly sleazy (in a very good way!) bars I've encountered in BKK have been on Patpong, Soi Cowboy, and Washington Square...
Actually, Soi Zero wasn't horrible...it was a fine, laid-back place to have a few to start the night, before it was time to head to the old Nana Disco (now THERE were some memories!!)...though I never came close to barfining anyone out of there.
