... uncertain if either of the spas below will leave you 'smiling', or leave you 'SMILING', but both are more upscale than the typical Thai spa above which the OP was searching to rise... yet, they are not luxurient like a hotel, or boutique spa that is really positioned as a rare and expensive treat for which the tourists pay dearly.
... either of these places could be your local neighborhood massage joint where you take weekly massages... the first has been mine for years.
... both are nicely furnished and finished, have qualified masseuses, are clean and atmospheric (lighting, music, fragrance), have moderate price points, and are very well run mid－market spas:
(1) Asia Herb Association... ( http://www.asiaherbassociation.com )... multiple locations, Japanese owner... I frequent their Sukhumvit Soi 24 location... these guys capture a lot of the Japanese market, so they really pay attention; and,
(2) Healthland Spa... ( http://www.healthlandspa.com )... same as above, but apparently Thai owned... I've only heard from friends that their spas are well run, and a similar quality to Asia Herb Association.
