Even in your country a sexworker charge more than a hotel maid or a cashier in a supermarket. Why shouldn’t a girl in Thailand need the extra money that she is so in need of.
In all the european countrys that I know it is commond to charge about 10 times the normal salary for sex. Even if it only was a HJ.

I'm from Europe myself, and the one thing that surprised me in LOS, is the way some girls decidedly do NOT like Europeans (that's when my US accent comes in handy). It originally perplexed me, but then as I was able to observe some Europeans it became clearer.
As I was reading Latrell's 'justification', it is now crystal clear.
It might also explain why I made the US my home, and got the heck outta Dodge (or rather, Europe).
Sorry, but justifying your cheap-ass behavior by relating it mathematically to the minimum wage is just some huge BS - A tip is given, in my opinion, for unexpected, service that makes your experience more pleasurable. If anything, I relate tip-rates to my personal ability to afford said services.
Hence, by that logic, I would assume that Latrell is one of those Euro-guys that saves up every penny, and then pinches same once he gets to LOS. Heck, fine by me - it makes those of us from cultures that are actually able to appreciate good service, look much better (and get better service).

Thanks for the warm welcome to the brotherhood, brother cmore. I've been in sunny California since 1984, but have been a regular visitor to the US since I was a toddler - so, you might say, the brainwashing has taken hold, and I know how to properly tip people for good service 
I've also had my recent initiation to the LOS in April (smack-dab during Songkran - what a blast), and after everything I heard and read about Thailand -- it was everything, and more.
Sites like this one, and Stickman's and Club Hombre have been significantly contributing to my pre-eduction -- to the point where a veteran of 9 prior Thai trips kept being surprised about all the stuff I knew. If only this guy knew about the web...
Still trying to figure out where to contribute a trip report - though I'm going back in October (yep, I'm hooked -- more on that in another thread).

Amen, Brother! How can I possibly not vote for my fellow Austrian Arnold. Of course, regardless of loyalties, he also happens to be the most qualified person for the job (certainly not Bust-a-nutty), and if you've ever watched 'Pumping iron', you know you want him as your Governor!
I can't vote (by design - don't want to get called to Jury duty), but I certainly made sure to collect at least 300 signatures for the recall effort, and swayed at least 2 dozen folks to actually *WANT* to vote for him now...

My serious Gf worked in the bars for 8 months and she worked very very hard and still made little money. She went with few customers out of general nervousness and fear. But hell, she is a good girl trying to help her family and there aint much for a brown skinned Isan girl with only 2 years of university to do in Bangkok.
What a cheap f_cking asshole. Like alot of you, I know how these girls have to live and it is beyond me how these wonderful angelic human beings (and I mean this seriously) can get by and still maintiain there sanuk. God Bless them all. What special special human beings. I'm not a high roller and usually pay on the budget end, but I always make sure they get a fair deal, not just in money, but the way I treat them.
BTW, my girlfriend gives the best HJs in Bangkok because I taught her!!!!!
