Tipping is included in al these Japanese korean places. Why do you feel the need to overpay? COllege grads here start at about 5000-8000 baht per month. Can't you understand that the economy is not the same as the west? The price includes the tip. Its like 1500 for a shitty massage and a BJ. Sazanka is a good massage and a HJ for 1000. That is all you should pay in these places.

jdfail, I hear your concerns and I agree. This over tipping and comparisons to prices in Europe or the US are wrecking what was once a wonderful playground.
I doubt it can be stopped, tooo late,, best to look elsewhere, personally I would be more frequently looking to Vietnam and Cambodia for "reasonably priced" enjoyment.
I love Thailand and its people and will continue with my business enterprises there but being quoted 4,000BHT L/T is rude and greedy ( IMHO), I run a business in Isaan and pay the manager 5,000 BHT per MONTH!!! yes MONTH. ( No sex included as he is male)
Others will see it differently and quote stupid things like "same thing costs me 150 Pounds in the Uk,,, well its NOT THE FRIGGEN UK or the US or Europe its ASIA, average wage is like US$ 150 per month.
But in reality we can yell / scream / quote financial realities but the idiots are and continue to ruin the place.
I guess it could be summarised as shitting in your own back-yard.

Cambodia and Vietnam will soon be Spoiled also... same as in LOS.
Look at Siem Reap.... in 2000, 65,000 passengers passed by its International airport; Today, in 2006, there are over 350,000 (six times more).
While European travellers are on the Decline, Asian tourists are on the rise and the average lenght of stay in Siam Reap is now a little less than 2 days.
Japanese mostly (cheap Flight, Cheap Accomodation, Cheap f***)

I found a huge increase in prices on my last loS trip, bar fines of ThB 6oo, 1000 & 1500 in places that were a max ThB 500 a year or so ago. The girls are asking a lot more for LT & ST but will come down for regular visitors.
Happy hours at the Cat House bar NEP was ThB 100 all you could drink Chang beer, has gone up to ThB 250, still a bargain to a lot of people but is such a large increase justified?
Bangkok is pricing it's self out of the market when the whole flight, cab, hotel, meals and entertainment deal is added up, mind you it's not much cheaper in Vietnam. heard a girl asking for 100 US$ in a Ho Chi Minh bar last week. Where the countrys average wage is supposed to be US$ 365 a YEAR!!!!!!!

As for Vietnam I've never paid more than US$25,,, but I can argue,,sorry negotiate < with them in broken Vietnamese ( maybe an advantage there).
Was in Cambodia lat year,, short trip to Siem Reap to see Angkor etc,, quoted US$50, offered US$25, immediately accepted,, she was a solid 7 and whilst doing her doggy grabbed the "old fella " and put it in the "back door" whithout me asking or showing any indications of heading that way.
I suppose as Thailand gets too expensive,, moove toward Vietnam,, as it does same,, moove toward Cambodia,, as it does,,, maybe next is Burma.
