Do you guys know of any OM places that are known to offer no extras at all, including HJ?

try angels, just tell the girl extras is not required, after her disappointed look tell her she will still get her tip of 3 or 400 baht.

just make sure you dont book for 2 hours.

one hour no special seems ok.

it seems 1 out of 6 guys want massageonly.

Preaw Beauty is a strictly legit place. They're on Sukhumvit, almost on the corner of soi 8- equidistant between the corner and the BTS stair landing.

Their OM comes rather soft for my tastes- as so many OM's do here- and has as much to do with a body carress as it does a proper massage but, as we all know: YMMV. As does OM taste- YTMV

That said, it's quite nice going in knowing the hustle is not and will not be part of the equation.

Oh, and don't forget the Elysium Spa on soi 23-just accross from the Tai Pan Hotel entrance. Very reasonable prices for a place more upscale than Preaw Beauty is.

You could also give Spa 24, on Sukhumvit 24 a go.

It at the bottom of the 1st, small side street same side as Emporium, literally 3 minutes after the mall.

# 6 is doing a great job, forgot her name. No english and knows her stuff. 1 hour goes for B. 450,-. Booking beforehand is a good idea.

Thanks guys for the suggestions.

Just so that I don't get a bad rep, here's why I'm asking. I usually go for OM with extras, but at times when I'm in funky mood I find the legit OM a greatest turn on, precisely because I know the extras are not on the menu.

Kind of like looking up a woman's skirt when you have 10 naked dancers in front of you, if you know what I mean.

Lots of positive comments, thanks for the pointer to the thread.

A couple of questions.

At Elysium, is "aromatherapy massage" same as OM, just done with an oil with added fragrance? What's the gel like, just a non-greasy base for a fragrance? And finally, does one wear those granny underwear during the OM?

Thanks in advance!

When "Spa" is part of the vocabulary you will usually find more elaborate infrastructure, more choices of massage style and higher prices. This type of venue is also your best bet if you don't want even an offer of any extras. For "straight" OM with no extras at more reasonable cost I would recommend:

The King and I (Suk 12)
Nirvana (Suk 23)
Rajadamri Spa* (Rajadamri)
Garden Spa* (Washington Square)
Boom Boom (off Suk 26)
Baron (choose from the TTM providers on the left)
Hativej (Ratchada)
Dai Ichi (Suk near 33)
Lavender (Suk 22)

*while these two call themselves "spas", it is because they have sauna/steam facilities.. they are lower in cost than most spas.

Note that I am not saying you can't GET extras at any of these venues... just that they are not part of the expectation and you will not normally be pressured on this issue.

Difference between a regular OM and aromatherapy is mostly the quality of the oil. For OM most use a 100% mineral oil. Mineral oil is only a massage agent and will hardly penetrate your skin. A 100 % natural oil, for example a mixture of jojoba, aloe vera, sweet almond, grape seed, sunflower oils etc will act as massage agent but will also penetrate your skin. Added to the base oil is a 100 % essential oil.
Also the type of massage can be very different. Often with oil massge it is often purely a 'relaxing' massage and your body will not be 'worked on'. The massage we offer is a quality massage, deep tissue or to your preferred strength by very well trained and qualified staff.

The massage gel is made from base oils of jojoba and Aloe Vera and therefore of a very high quality. Fragrance added is lavender. Indeed, it is a little different experience and feels less 'greasy' due to the fact that it will heavily penetrate into your skin. Also, not forget that it is bets not to shower directly after an aromatherapy massge, wait another 4 hours to get the best out of it......
And yes, we offer our clients the disposable underwear to wear during the massge...

To Dee File.
I feel that we are offering a quality product for a reasonable price which are comparable to some of the by you listed ones.
Also I disagree that Nirvana is not offering extras..... have heard very different stories from many, many people. Otherwise, yes, some of the listed are offering a good service and no extras.

Useful outline of the different types of massage oil... this is not widely understood. Elysium does indeed offer a very good service, and pricing falls in the low range compared to other "spa" venues (such as the exorbitantly priced hotel spas). Customers will typically encounter a more stylish ambience, better trained personnel and higher quality oil at a spa than at the venues I have mentioned... it's up to the individual to determine whether these distinctions justify the pricing differential.

"Spas" should really be in a different Forum category, because they are as different from OM as "Soapy". One must speak in general terms of course... there are always exceptions... but I have found that "Spa" is virtually synonymous with "no extras". This is definitely NOT the case for "OM" venues, where extras have become the norm. The operations I listed are those where extras are less likely to be an "in your face" part of the experience... it doesn't mean you can't GET them, only that they are less obtrusive. The individual provider is also a major factor here... not just the venue.
