I don't like to be the bearer of bad news, but I fear that Baron must now pass from active status to historical legend... the ownership has changed, the management has changed, the name has changed and (most distressingly) the MO has changed.
The new modus operandi (doubtless a condition of reopening) is strict adherence to a straight massage policy... there is now a foot massage station (a la Tulip) on the ground floor, the providers (only ~6 of the former Baron girls remain) must wear "nurse" dresses and the only services offered are Foot/Thai/Oil.
At present the girls are adhering to the new company line, and refusing to even undress. There is an ad hoc arrangement whereby select providers may take known/vip customers next door to 24 Inn for FS, but this is clearly an awkward arrangement and it does not seem likely that this will endure.
Anything is possible, of course.... over time, the new owners may develop the requisite relationships and implement unofficial payment policies sufficient to cover the sort of illicit activities that prevailed at Baron. Not likely, I suspect.... and certainly not any time soon.
The owner got stung badly, for whatever reasons... and a total of 33 providers had to endure a trip to Thonglor precinct where they were booked, photographed and fined. The ingredients that made Baron what it was and gave it momentum are gone.
We can now commence with posts about Lotus, but they are unlikely to be as interesting as those posted in the Baron threads.

I went two days ago and there was a more strict policy (no FS and fully clothed) but I was told that the manager was the same and that the changes were brought about by a change in the local constabulary flexing their muscles, presumably letting the owner know the new status quo, and where to send the cheques.
Deep File may be right, but I was told that normal service will resume at the end of this month as a 1 month cautionary period passes. Don't understand it myself, but we'll see.

This is all horrific- I've been a very satisfied patron for years and in July time got quite close to one girl, taking her out a few times and spending a night at hers; the time before I had some great sessions with Pun, comming twice she was so buzzed up.
But I'm really telling you here that Thai culture is being infected with Western norms, materialism and sexual repression. I first went to Bangkok in 1994 and things are not at all the same- you can't really find the same fantastic reciprocal attitudes anymore, anywhere in the country.
Ten years ago there was a far more intense exotic feel, many more trees, no skytrain, worse pollution, everything more extreme, and just unbelieveably exciting and powerful: the MPs and trad places were just absolutely, absolutely blow-your-head-off life-changing experiences like they're not today. The world has just moved on: I think the real Thai is still there, but buried beneath tons of Americanized, backward pop culture shit.
Barons was about the best thing left in Bangkok, no, lets face it, the best thing left in the entire world. It's all slipping away just right in front of us, and I think nothing short of a new world order is needed to reassert reality and stop the filth and pollution of the West.

When LOS becomes just like the West, you and I will be long gone.
Even so, today in the US, in SF, LA or NY there are tons of massage parlors teaming with sexy girls in scant apparel waiting to put it all over you.
So just go find out if your new 'heaven' is Angels or Anna's or Patou or Teen or 33 Center, or Euro, or Oranges, etc etc...
It is too bad the owner got raped like this, but we will not likely ever know exactly what happened so why fret about it ?
I thought the world was coming to an end when the States in the US got into the gambling business (lottery). But life went on and it will do the same here.

Went to Lotus yesterday just after 11:00am. Only 3 girls available. Had booked my favourite. Soon as I paid 600 baht for 1.5 hours she said we need to go next door to do 'like last time' (ie. FS). Paid 24 Inn 500 for ST room. FS was excellent at the usual 1,500 baht. No more Lotus for me. I've got this girls number and she is far more energetic and responsive in my hotel room. Cost per shot is a lot lower as well. Could get it even lower if it wasn't for age slowing down my recovery time.
