That's what I am starting to discover, as I peruse the Pattaya real-estate sections and pages. There's some pretty darn nice deals to be had in terms of nice 2-3 bedroom houses with comfortable sq/footage.

I guess I'll have to plan another real-estate inspection trip now...

I don't think so (about the blending in), there's plenty of other quacks out there -- but I think a house would be a better investment, which is what I'm looking for.

sure the met is mentioned in there.. depending how often the updates is, its always on 1st page or 2nd page..

i like the hamptons lots... did not get to see the interior as all units are already sold out.. was already impressed driving up the driveway to the lobby..

i think it should rent out well, especially with the japanese crowd.

i saw the infinity as well, but was not impressed.. too near the cemetary off silom..

I was in BKK late April-early May and I went to see the Hampton with a broker. There was one penthouse for sale by owner. Was somewhat disappointed with the floor plan and the view wasn't as spectacular as I thought. But the neighborhood is great. Very quiet and private. O, the swimming pool on the ground floor off to the right of the lobby is way too open to public view. They should plant some hedges or trees to screen off the pool from the main visitors' lobby. Surely, our lovely little TGSs wouldn't have wanted everyone in the world to see them in their cute little bathing suits.

Dinkum91. A guy I used to know wanted to buy a house on Ko Samui. The real estate agent got him a deal with a 99 year lease. We sure wouldn't want to contravene any laws against foreigners owning property. A 99 year lease sidesteps that legality rather elegantly.

While certainly a 99 year lease is a good loophole, and allows one to wait for legislation to change to allow better foreign ownership -- what is one to do when the lease expires (unless, can extensions in such 99 year leases be incorporated in the original lease?)
