Is this Ricky same guy, English speaking Thai, that used to work for Johnny the Aussie at the Hollywood something or another next to Hogs Breath about 10 years ago?
If he is I would not patronize any place he runs, and I would most certainly want to know who the "owners" of Club One are.
I took a VIP from outside of the country bar crawling at NEP. He barfined a girl, took her upstairs for ST, caught her going through his wallet while -- no money taken yet but still...I complained to this Ricky, wanted the girl fired, he wouldn't commit to doing more than talking to her.
So, if it is same Ricky he coddles thieves among his girls.

Or is the institutional memory of the forum all too short for this question?
I don't wish to pillory Ricky of Club one or formerly of Club One is he is not the same chap. If he is a farang, he is not the same man. The Ricky I am talking about was a Thai with a pronounced Aussie accent as if he had learned English as it is Strained while living on the wrong side of the equator. (or as it known to Australians, "God's Hemishpere."
But then again maybe he is.
I await any information elucidating this point.

Also Ricky seems to be an ex-manager of Club One even before it opens...a good trick.
However if he is not the guy I am thinking of then I shouldn't be kicking him when he is down. I barely even can claim acquaintance with the other Ricky (if this isn't him) as the incident was 10 years ago and afterwards I avoided all the Hollywood gogo joints like the proverbial plague. (Sorry Johnny but you ought to have trained your managers better and have had a zero tolerance policy toward thieves.)
In comparison, at New Cowbay Bar Soi 22 where I used to almost live, in the days when my wife worked there (for 800 baht a month) and Grant Francisco was owner, one of the long time bartendees, a lovely and smart girl, was cashiered on the spot when a single customer complained that his cup was been stuffed (the illicit padding of the bill by inserting extra chits). She moved on to the now vanished Mermaid's Rest and as far as I know those Norsemen never had any trouble from her. Damned shame as she was well known for being fond of "owm la duj" (cum drinking, a BBBJ with facial and or swallowing, like a lot of Thai girls she calls it "ice cream")
My point is that a zero tolerance policy for stealing is traditional in any reputable farang establishment.
Rick's comment at the time was that, as the girl got caught BEFORE she could actually take any money, it was a minor incident.
That of course is pure sophistry (a fancy work for BULL SHIT), I mean, was the point to wait till the girl gets more experience and competence as a thief?
But let me say again:
None of this has to do with CLub One
Ricky whoever he is is allegedly already out of there
We are not sure he's even the same guy I am thinking of.
Club One I know nothing about other than what has been posted here.
Soi 1 Sukhumvit I know well as once upon a time I stayed fairly often at Golden Palace (guest friendly inexpensive hotel on same soi) as many friends often stayed there and it is cheap enough to use as a ST hotel, but is of better quality than most of those, unless you miss all the mirrors.

oops sorry to do a repeat - did not read the whole post
On a larger view point it is one of the things I have have a probelm with here - the general lack of customer satisfaction
I.E Juat today I bought several items of furniture and arranged to have them deleiverd at a cost of 200 B (no probelm)
3 hours after thay had aranged to deliver the goods I has a phone call saying that they had broken a mirror on one piece - But they could get another in 1 weeks time
No probelm I said - just deliver when you have it
Ok they said but please come down and pay the 200B delivery fee
But I have paid I said
Yes they said - for todays delivery now many hours late)
But not for the "new" delivery in a weeks time (of the furrniture they have broken, not have another in stock and I have to wait another week)
Hope this does not change the theme of this thread too far.

Why should you have to pay for a re-delivery due to an item THEY broke before even getting to your place?
As a matter of principle, you should not.
As a matter of practice, you might want to have a cordial chat with the owner, and tell him you will pay the 200 baht but if you must do, you will never buy from his shop again. And tell him why. All politely. He may get the message and kick the manager or saleman or delivery clerk in the ass.
How much business have you done with this shop?

PS the furniture factory/shop I use in Bkk does not charge for local delivery. Not that this does you much good in Phuket...
