I was in Lolitas last weekend (as well as many other weekends before then) and it was 700 Baht then ? If its true the new price is 800 baht then its only been put up in the last few days.

Two of my friends went to Lolita's on Tuesday and were asked for the 800 baht. If it was only one customer who was asked, I would have thought that it may possibly be some enterprising lass wanting a bit more for their efforts. But, with two, it appears to be an increase. I have not verified this, though.
But the points posted above still stand.
My friends have since been to the Star of Light and have asked me why I didn't persuade them to go there first. I simply replied that everyone has to form their own preferences for what they want and like. And if they had been to the SOL before Lolita's, O.K. they would still have come to the same conclusion, but it is a matter of personal choice only made by experiencing both.
I would advise anybody to try both and other bj bars, before making a decision. Having tried most, I stick to the quality I find at the Star of Light.
But that's only me.

After posting a few on the board earlier today, I could not resist the temptations and stopped by Lolitas on my way home. I was only charged 700 baht – same as SOL. And I must say I was quite pleased with the results. I was actually able to find a lovely lady that was able to hang in there until I was satisfied and did not require calling in reinforcements or resort to “handy” work as I am faced with most of the time at SOL.
Generally speaking I do think the service is a bit better at SOL, but I find the atmosphere in Lolitas a bit more suitable to my tastes. To each their own.
And Lolitas is on my way to/from the office as well.
Maybe the 700 baht they charged me is because I am a semi-regular. Or maybe the cashier this afternoon was not up to date on a possible price increase. This may require yet another stop tomorrow for more detailed questioning in regard to prices. Then again it might not be in my best interest to question it as they may decide to charge me more.

The price was Bt 700 the last time I went to Lolitas also (a couple of weeks ago).
I have also never felt pressured to leave once the deed was done. I have sat and enjoyed a chat with some of the girls. It may be that the girls in Lolitas are used to guys going in, finishing and leaving so they are giving you some space, or are just not that used to non-regulars wanting to sit and chat.
As I pointed out in my last post here, not all the girls in SoL are as customer friendly as they are made out. Most are, but not all.

Glad to hear that the charge at Lolita's may not have been jacked up yet again., as was suspected. I think it was madfrog also who wrote that he got charged 800 at Lolita's, but that's maybe because he's young and handsome.
But even if it was on a new rate, the Star of Light wouldn't follow suit. They go their own way and have never been influenced by other bars or the price of petrol or the rubber market.
O.K., so they were forced to cave in from b. in b. pressure last year and raised it to 700 baht for the bj, but that was only after years of it remaining at 500 baht.
It's still a great bargain for what you get.
No one person enjoys the same experience even at the same time of either a bar or a girl. (!!!???) It really is down to what is happening for each of you and between you, as some people say the 'chemistry'.
Different strokes for different f**ks.
And Joe, yes, I agree with you. The whole thing, service, ambience, atmosphere, friendliness, openness etc at the Star of Light far outstrips the competition. And I do go there a lot.
But just because you've sampled Lolita's or the Kangaroo or the Rose or After School or Toy bar or Tina's or Wild Country or some of the others years ago, I don't think you can write them off.
Bars change all the time for a variety of reasons. The management. The girls and the changes of staff. Relationships within the bar on a particular day. That's why I never write off a place after only one visit. Even the type of music they play, or the beer they serve or the company I go with can affect how I view the bar. You never know, you may find things a little different in some of these places now.

I'm sure that you are right Dickin. In fact the Star of Light goes through changes just like any other place. And I'm sure guys do get good experiences elsewhere.
I don't go to the Star of Light for the rates they charge. And I do pay double the fee to the ladies, on top of lady drinks and a tip. I have by now, and for a long time, a sort of loyalty to the ladies there, who are just incredible.
However, I should not and would not wish to condemn another place out of hand and so I might well venture forth at least to have a look at some of the other bj bars, if not sampe their services.
It is true that a lot of semen has flown down a lot of throats since I last did the 'rounds'. But to tell you the truth, the moment I step into another bar, it just doesn't hold the same attraction for me as SOL.
Good to hear ( thanks IBFarang, Meatywsg, and Finchy ) that Lolita's still charge the same price for a bj, although a few hundred baht either way doesn't really count, especially if one keeps in mind ( excuse me please, brothers of a non-U.K. origin ) that 700 baht is worth just a little under 10 pounds sterling and that if you wanted a bare-back blow-job in the U.K., you'd be looking in the region of between 130 to 180 pounds, that is if you could find a working girl who would do it.
That's another reason and the main reason why I go to the Star of Light. You wouldn't be able to find the quality of girl in the U.K. comparable to any of the SOL girls, even if you searched the U.K. from top to bottom (?).
I just wonder sometimes if there is anyone else in Bangkok who comes from the U.K. and who goes to the bar as regularly as I do and who wakes up in the middle of the night thanking the pagan deities that they are not paying the equivalent of U.K. prices, which, according to the current exchange rate would approximately amount to 12,600 baht per blow, without tip.
I am so happy that I left the U.K. those many years ago. I haven't stopped smiling.

I went to the Star of Light last week, late morning, shattered, and arrived just as one of my favourites was reporting for work. I didn't stay in the bar even for a drink but bar-fined her and her friend and we made our way back to the short-time hotel in Suriwonge.
Feeling the worse for wear from a night's boozing with a couple of the guys, I just showered, lay on the bed and asked the girls when they emerged from the shower, to do their best.

That would be enough to give any guy nightmares.
Luckily, I have no intention of returning to the Land of grim faces and starched Judaic-Christian morals.
Please don't inform the ladies at the Star of Light of this overseas fact of life. I doubt if we would see them again for dust.
Interestingly enough though, they do know of how much their services cost overseas, particularly in the U.S.A., but I have heard many of them say that they would not wish to work outside of Thailand.
I think this maybe because, not only do they love their country and would not wish to be away from it, but that they are also aware of the astronomical costs of living in these countries. like Japan and Singapore as well as Europe and the States, that would eat up their earnings faster than they could make it, let alone the aspect of having to constantly keep out of the clutches of organised crime, and therefore heavy exploitation and complete vulnerability to abuse.
Networks amongst the ladies of Bangkok do inform a lot of them of some of the horrific stories of some girls who have ventured out, some never to return.

It is indeed fascinating to me how many Thai ladies that I have met have no interest in living outside Thailand. They are interested in traveling, but the lack of som tam is surprisingly important to them.
I guess that I can understand this somewhat, as the first thing that I did tonight when I returned from overseas was go to my favorite restaurant and order mu manao and som tam. My favorite sucking bar was long closed, unfortunately.
I know one girl, (who does not work at SoL), for example, who actually lived in Australia for a period of several months with a very nice gentleman. She was bored stiff. She went to school a bit, to learn English, (and she now speaks with an incredibly sexy Australian accent), but she hated school, as it was taught in a way that offended her dignity ("like for dek pushai," she said, meaning for little kids). She did not work. She just stayed home while her paramour worked, and watched tv, and took care of the house, and she was bored out of her gourd. Inevitably, she and her boyfriend argued, and ultimately, he conceded defeat and sent her home to her country.
This girl has a child, and while she is very, very bright....I think that it is understandable that she went stir crazy after a time. It can be a hazardous thing, taking these girls out of Thailand, in my opinion. Particularly when they have children living with mom up-country.
Far better to just keep them here. And to stay here, with them.
Still, I do give her credit for actually trying it out. She is a better person for the experience, I think. And that accent is devastating.

Hello, sorry that this is off-topic, but I have not yet shed my 'newbie' status and therefore cannot make new posts. I figured this is my favorite thread, so I'd ask my question here.
Actually, I suppose this is tangentially related to SoL as what I'm looking for is 'an SoL outside of Bangkok'.
Let me be more specific: I live in Nonthaburi, actually very close to the old airport. The commute to SoL is killing me, as it will usually take upwards of 60 minutes there and almost the same back. Are there alternatives closer to me? It's a 160B ride to the Mo Chit BTS, so I suppose I'm way off the beaten track, but I thought some of you fine people might have heard of something way up here.
Either way, I'll be frequenting the SoL whenever I have the free time.
