Hi, mansaturday. Thanks for responding to my response in a mature and friendly manner--which is (I hope obviously) how I meant my post as well. Unfortunately I see so much bickering, high-handedness and conceit on forums when anybody meets someone with different experiences, opinions, feelings, or God forbid, tastes... 555
Regarding your take on things above which I quoted... I thoroughly agree with you, although in BKK (not only Entertainment Zones) I do cut folks a lot of slack. This is because, like those girls in SOL, they have to show up every day. If they don't show up, they get docked money. So they don't really get holidays, though they do get like one or two a month. Therefore I probably wouldn't expect too much out of them on a big holiday like NewYear's even if I did find them at the bar, even if the door was unlocked. They have somewhat of the same cliqueish feeling there that you'd get in a small karaoke off the main road. Some guys thrive on it and to them it feels homey. Others feel estranged until somehow one day they adjust or find someone they click with; kind of mysterious.
On a side note, since I am in the Thai's country I suppose the question could be raised, am I 'cutting slack' or are they merely tolerating my uptight foreign idiosyncracies about customer service...? I am half joking, but there's definitely an element of truth in this, considering the Thai bargirls' backgrounds and how vastly they differ from mine. Despite the cultural gentleness, I have seen women in many bars over the years whom I believe would benefit from a semester at Finishing School.
Either way you look at it, I will spend my time and money in places that amuse me with those hostesses who do, so I don't cut people so much slack that I put up with what I consider poor service. International business, what a tricky thing to learn. Just like any bar things go up and down at SOL, good days and bad. I have found them very reliable over the years, but I don't know why some women there didn't want to do Madfrog at that day and time he was there. I'm sure he's having a good time in Bangkok in any event. Only once, 5 years ago, when I was very drunk did I feel not a 'preferred customer'. I cut my losses, stayed away for a couple months, came back and it was all refreshed. That's just my experience.

Well, it's a trust issue, isn't it? This British guy who has taken Khun T*k away from the bar scene certainly knows of her past but he should also know that her work was simply work and nothing more. What they have together cannot be compared in any way to her work with punters.
So, if a punter who is also considered a friend (and that happens) wants to see Khun T*k as a friend then there's nothing to worry about if their trust (Khun T*k and her British man) is 100%.
By the way, all my best to Khun T*k and her man. I concur with Joe Woodhead that I hope he's a good man and not a bastard. Khun T*k deserves the best.
