The analyst who was expert on "The Trust" on Jim Angleton's Counterintelligence Staff (CI) in the 50s-early 70s was Raymond Rocca. Even though The Trust ended in the 20s, CIA (or at least Angleton & Associates) still considered a deep understanding of The Trust to be vital, as it was the archetypal Soviet deception operation.
Another organization similarly dissected endlessly was Die Rote Kapelle -- mentioned above by Brother Wolf -- Beria's apparatus in Nazi Germany. (The Red Chapel).
