just wondering why anybody would bother walking down past LandMark for SubWay if they were already standing across the street from one at the opening of Soi 8...

take a look at the map from my link above...
if you are standing at the entrance of soi 8 you can certainly see SubWay at soi 7/1, but you cannot see the SubWay that is much farther down beyond LandMark

whatever..., soi 24 is just east of Prom Pong while soi 23 is just East of Asoke, but they're both quite far from LandMark if you're walking at noon...
